We visited the Hudson Cafe based on the trip advisor reviews; unfortunately we were disappointed with the entire experience. First, when we entered we were told our wait would be 20 minutes. ..not too bad considering the obvious popularity. After about 30 minutes of waiting, and seeing folks being seated who arrived after us, we approached the hostess who informed... More

I was a little nervous about this restaurant based on a couple of the previous reviews concerning mediocre food and sub-standard service. Nothing coul dbe further than the truth. My 12 year old son and I came in for a Saturday brunch at 9:30 am and were promptly seated. I had the huevos ranchers and he had the full size... More

A lot was heard from this cafe but I was not able to visit it until my last trip to Detroit. Be aware that waiting for a table takes an average of 20 min, this could be avoided if you arrive early at 8:00 AM. Menu Items are waffles, french toast, hot cakes, omelette and fried eggs and with several... More

First and foremost my food was great. However, the family of fruit flies that lived in our booth was gross. Literally, had to cover my plate with a napkin. My coffes was never topped off or refilled. The waitress wasn't attentive or very helpful explaining menu options and had to be flagged down so we could get to go boxes.... More

We were here on Saturday morning at 10:30 and were told 30 minute wait for a table, no problem. We got our table on time, it was another 15 minutes to place our order and another 35 minutes to get food. That was just a little too long. Our server was average, showing up periodically. I assume the kitchen is... More

We went for brunch on a Saturday. The wait was an hour and an additional hour to get our food even though several tables that were seated after us were served first. I got French toast and sausage. The sausage came out with pink spots in it and I mentioned it to the waitress she said it couldn't be undercooked... More

I was excited to try a breakfast place downtown since we were on our Stay-cation holiday for my husband's birthday. It's very hard to get him out of our little tripod area (Birmingham, Royal Oak & Ferndale) for breakfast. I was able to convince him that an hour wasn't too bad of a wait.... We didnt have reservations and I... More

We went to the Hudson Cafe on a Sunday morning. We were pleased to find a parking spot right on Woodward near the cafe. (No parking meter fee on Sundays!) We were able get seated right away. The menu had lots of interesting, unusual choices such as red velvet pancakes. I stuck with a more traditional omelette with a side... More

I visited this café for breakfast this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere, staff, and especially the food! I have a lot of food allergies and eating out generally stresses me out due to lack of safe food options and the chance of poor treatment by irritated staff. The treatment I received at the Hudson exceeded all... More
