A Very Nice Option

If you just want to have a regular old fashioned breakfast for $10 downtown, this is your place. The coffee is limitless and the omelet was the biggest I've ever seen. I had the corned beef hash which was good, but the omelet might have been the better choice. Friendly folks...mostly locals... read more

I would have give this 5 stars except for the hostess. We called ahead to see if they accepted reservations and she rudely responded "aah NO". Upon our arrival there were numerous people waiting and we were told it would be a 35/40 minute wait which proved to be accurate. Unfortunately, we were standing one couple away from the hostess... On a lark, I decided to try the Hudson Cafe. I used to be a manager in the cosmetics department of the Hudson's downtown department store just before it closed its doors. So I do remember people working and walking downtown. I also worked in the old First Federal Bank Building. The Hudson Cafe did not disappoint me. Great atmosphere... More

We went to the Hudson Cafe on Valentines Day and it did not disappoint! I got the Voodoo Benedict and it was on point! the food was so fresh and the chorizo was awesome. But the real MVP of the dish was the potatoes. Damn are those things great. My wife got the huevos rancheros and ate the entire plate,... More

We had read rave reviews and were delighted this cafe was around the corner from our hotel. We arrived early-ish for breakfast, and found the cafe busy, but still had several empty tables and no others waiting. The hostess seemed to be bothered by us asking for a table and told us it would be 20 minutes for a table... More

This was on our list of places to visit in Detroit. I'm so glad we did this on our first day. BEST BREAKFAST EVER. Portions were over sized so the children could share plates. Service was fast and friendly. Felt like I knew the entire staff before we left. Atmosphere was not what I expected for a breakfast place. Felt... More

We found Hudson Café from a Google search and were very happy we did. We were in downtown Detroit after staying the night for Valentine's Day and decided to grab a bite in the area (exploring) in spite of the -25F temp. We waited over 40 minutes for a table, but our decision to stay was partly because of the... More

Went for a late breakfast. Chicken and waffles were good, but was a bit disappointed. One Belgium waffle with chicken wings on top. Syrup served on the side, no butter or extras. Kind of reminded me of a bag of frozen chicken wings. My husband had a triple triple omelet. Three eggs with bacon, ham and sausage. Really looked amazing... More

There was a wait but it was worth it and less time then they quoted. Orange juice is amazing...eggs benedict was yummy...waffles with berries were perfect. The place is clean, which scores major points with me. Some advice: Don't let them sit you at the 4 top near the hostess stand. On a cold day, you can feel the wind... More

We are thoroughly excited to see the resurgence of business and energy returning to downtown Detroit. We didn't even mind waiting 1 hour for a table at this restaurant because it was exciting to see the restaurant doing so well. Regrettably, we were seated in booths that were obviously originally booths for 2 people, not 4 so it was tight... More
