Good sushi, not easy for solo dining

Good sushi menu, well made by great sushi chefs. I sat at the sushi bar, which normally is fine as alone eater (travelling on business). It was fine, but I didn't feel as comfortable on my own as I do in 'proper' sushi bars. Not the fault of Joe Muer, basically a lot of couples and a few tables... read more

This place is pricey but worth the price, staff is very friendly. Great seafood choices. Don't miss the desserts while you are here. I've been here several times and love it.

We were in Detroit for the Auto Show and stayed in the Marriott Renaisance. The restaurant is in the same complex so we when there for convenience. It was a great and pleasant surpirse. The three of us liked it so much, we came back the next night. We were not disappointed. The service is excellent and the decor is... More

We ate here in the early afternoon after a day of traveling. Our server was Andrea, and Sam was also nearby, both were very nice, courteous, and had great recommendations!! I had the Muer roll and the swordfish oscar-style!! It was some of the best seafood I had ever eaten, along with a great view and atmosphere. Would highly recommend... More

I don't like or eat seafood. Sooooo maybe I am not the best to review this, but I must say that they excel in more than food from the sea! We made reservations via open table and upon arrival, we had to wait maybe 10 minutes due to my request to be seated on the river view side. Get seating... More

I had just checked into the Marriott next door after a long flight, it was Thursday night and the joint was jumpin'. The friendly receptionist told me it would be a few minutes' wait -- no problem, I was solo and hadn't reserved. I was seated comfortably in a waiting area with free WiFi. After about 20 minutes, I went... More

My husband and I ate dinner at this restaurant on January 29, 2015 as we were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary. We each had a glass of wine - one us had a Malbec and the other had a blend of red wines. We each enjoyed our glass of wine. For dinner, I ordered the barramundi fish which was served... More

We had flown in from a long day of traveling - and this was one of the recommendations by hotel staff. It's very convenient that it's in the same building as the hotel. It is a little tricky to find - just because of the towers/rings format of the building, but definitely worth looking for. The restaurant is a little... More

Sometimes when we feel like we want to treat ourselves to a fancier dinner, we head downtown to Joe Muers. It is always a treat!!!! I have probably eaten here 20 times since my initial bad review and I have enjoyed every meal since. The waiters are the hardest working in Michigan. They turn themselves inside out to serve you... I visited Joe Muir Seafood at the Detroit Renaissance Center during my business travels to Detroit. The location is prime as the restaurant overlooks the river and a great view of Canada. When I travel I always look for a great seafood restaurant and Joe Muir's hit the mark. The menu selection was vast with many appetizers to chose from... More
