We had some trouble finding this restaurant but it was worth it. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the traffic on the river and were waited upon by very professional and friendly staff. The menu and wine list were excellent and the food was delicious and I would highly recommend it.

My husband and I recently visited Joe Muer Seafood to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were with another couple as well, whose wedding anniversary was one day earlier. From the very beginning to the very end, this was a wonderful dining experience. This restaurant is definitely on the more expensive side, but the service and the food lived up to... More

I love seafood. I didn't get past a sampling of oysters, wedge and one sushi roll. I will come back on this trip to get try one of their entrees. The service was great.

Great options and choices on the menu of everything from raw seafood to grilled fare and baked/stuffed options. Tasty preparations and and presentations, but the wait staff made some significant order errors and the background pianist was not soothing or impressive. Overall the food quality was able to overcome the service and ambiance shortcomings. The view of the River and... More

Although a bit challenging to find in the labrynth of the GM Renaissance Centre Joe Muers was worth it. Friendly, attentive & professional staff, delicious selection of dishes to choose from & extensive wine list with a quiet elegance while not stuffy. I ordered the tuna tartare appetiser (with avocado, mango, seaweed & a light mayonnaise served with fine wafers,... More

We were wanting to try this restaurant which had such a great history in our town. the view is lovely over-looking the Detroit River. the room is modern and comfy. appetizer of oysters rockefeller was very nice. But then we ordered the wedge salad, a true classic, I mean how could that be messed up? Well the tomatoes were rotten... More

Our first night in Detroit and we walked the riverside, had a drink at the top of the Renaissance Centre for the views and weren't attracted by the menu - good news. Spotted Joe Muer at the base of the building, heard the piano music, read the menu and were welcomed in. The food was divine, we were spoilt for... More

The clam chowder was to die for. I was not super impressed by the monkfish and sent it back for the swordfish which was delicious. My boyfriend and I were not impressed by the riesling but otherwise good experience

Had dinner last night (Friday) at Joe Muer Seafood in Detroit around 6 pm. It was not crowded at all when we arrived but once we left it was packed; so reservations are highly recommended. It was a great evening. The hostesses, the view of Canada, the piano player, the celebrity sightings (Michael Eric Dyson and Kid Rock...they were not... More
