Where to start - we rsvp for 4 people, out of respect we got there 10 mins early to checkin which I figured they won’t seat up since our rsvp was at 8:30 pm so that’s not a problem, we ended up not getting seated...until 8:50 and everyone was just unpleasant from the beginning. waiter - he was rude, didn’t smile once or introduced himself or even ask how are we all doing, etc. - no drink menu on the table yet he just started asking us if we are ready to order drinks. He didn’t seem happy when I asked him to get us a menu or more bread. - he wrote things down yet forget what we ordered - we were 4 people and he couldn’t even pass out the food correctly and wasn’t happy when i told him i ordered medium steak and I got well done. - did not check on us if we liked the food or not or asked us if we wanted anything. Other than one time asked if i wanted another beer and to bring us the check ofc. - maybe cuz they restaurant already add the 20% service fee for them they don’t care about the service because they get their money regardless of how good or bad they do. Super disappointing, the tip was almost 90$. I promise you if I went to any fast food restaurant they would provide you a more friendly service than what we got. - next table to us, the waiter sounded. Nicer and talking to them, we never met this waiter so not sure why he didn’t like us. The food: - Apps: we ordered Mac and cheese ( I highly recommend it, it was delicious and all 4 of us loved it) the steak bites ( avoid at all costs, can’t tell you how disgusting it was, 6 pieces of the most chewy over cooked meat I have ever had, idk if I will feed my dog that meat). Truffle fries (nice portion and they were crispy, decent price and tasted good, I would order it again) - steaks: We ordered two delmoncio steaks: please do yourself a favor and avoid them, the steaks tastes chewy and like of flavor, they felt broiled rate them 1/5. - waygu stake was okay rate it 3/5 The hype is not worth it for the moneyMore

Lipstick on a pig. Save your move and go elsewhere. Lee the manager treated us unkind and not welcomed. Embarrassing!!!

First and last time!!! You can read our reviews from other restaurants we have been to… and we hardly ever give a restaurant a bad review. But this place has topped all restaurants in bad management. A huge sign at the entrance informing guests of...their dress code. It’s not a dress code, it’s discrimination. We had to leave our table because my husband was wearing a woollen beanie. It was so draughty that he was forced to wear his beanie. We got assigned to another table in the back. No apologies… rules are rules. The best part of the meal was the seafood… and no refreshment towels were offered after the meal. The dessert trolley is a joke. Poorly presented and dried out pieces of cake. The only positive point we can make is that the guys removing our dinner plates were really friendly.More

Oyster Rockefella - Too much cheese and way way to much spinach, check your bill carefully I was charged - they add 20% service at the time of the bill, don't get caught out, ask about the price of the specials, they won't tell you,...then charge you 150.00 for a lobster tail, or $20.00 for 6 of the smallest scallops I've ever seen I mean tiny tiny. Don't be fooled by good service, the moment they get busy you get forgotten and wait and wait to order dessert and coffee. I wont be going back I suggest you try somewhere elseMore

The lobster tail was pretty much perfect, clarified butter was smooth and nutty with the perfect amount of salt. Steak was a little rare for my medium rare request as I knew the 14oz fillet would be thicker, but I was satisfied. As always the...appetizers were fantastic and desert was perfect. 5/5More

Great views of the Detroit River, excellent seafood and steaks, along with very adept service equals a lovely evening. The lake perch can be prepared a number of ways and is so good. Their Martha's Vineyard Salad is excellent. But really you can't go wrong....order...anything!More

An amazing meal with some of the best service ever. We just happened to stop in after driving in to town. Reservations are typically needed, but they were able to accommodate us and sat us at a table overlooking the Riverwalk. The food was fantastic...and the service from Tomika provided an outstanding dining experience. The Tuna was excellent. The "zip" sauce was amazing. We will definitely go back!More

My husband and I were both dressed nice he had on a Ralph Lauren polo shirt and khaki shorts, but had flip-flops on. I had on dressier black clothes but I also was my fancier flip-flops. On the way to be seated. Our hostess stopped...and returned us back to the waiting area and said we needed to wait a minute a manager came out and told us that my husband needed to change the shoes.. The website does give dress code but doesn't specify shoe specifications. We were told we had to leave. Fyi, different rule for different sexes. Just didn't seem right I could wear them and my husband could not! We went to the Grey Ghost instead and were much happier!More

Fabulous seafood restaurant on the detroit river in the Ren Cen complex. We went there for dinner while on a baseball fan trip. the restaurant is one of the best seafood restaurants anywhere, with a very complete menu. We had lobster and a filet which...were just wonderful and creatively prepared. the service was totally professional with a knowledgeable waiter and supporting staff. This restaurant is expensive, but totally worth it and would be great for a group gathering.More

Celebrated a major birthday here on an overnight stop on the way to Quebec City for more celebration. We dined early so had very attentive service. Lovely cocktails and a French cote du Rhone Blanc wine accompanied our meal. Starter of blue crab-stuffed prawns was...delicious, as was the roasted beet salad. My scallops and hubby's Alaskan Halibut excellently prepared. We ate every bite but for a few English peas. Dessert offerings were huge, but with it being my birthday, we splurged and shared the carrot cake. Alas, we did leave a few bites of it. As others filled the dining room, we observed more casual attire than expected for a restaurant with "business attire " on the sign at the front door. But jeans, tee shirts and sweatshirts could not detract from this stellar restaurant.More

What a huge disappointment Apart from the raw seafood, the food was awful. The salad was not fresh. The fish and greens was over cooked and over priced. The service was attentive but obsequious. When I gave my feedback on the fish, apparently it was...my fault for choosing the wrong dish. I was offered a dessert but I’m not a dessert person and there was no offer of anything else. We shared a starter, two modest mains, 2 beers $175. Don’t waste your money.More

We were at the Joe Muer Seafood, Detroit, location for my son's birthday dinner! Seating, food and service were wonderful! When we called, we were told half of our parking would be reimbursed! Upon exiting we were told so sorry but we ran out of...tickets to discount parking! Saturday night and you do not have enough parking tickets! Very disappointed after we spent over $500 dollars and drove almost an hour from Ann Arbor! We will NOT ever come back to any Joe Muer restaurant!More

Very, very expensive. Apparently for GM business people with an expense account. The food was good when we finally got it, two hours later!! Our waiter kept disappearing, one time telling us he had an issue with a customers coffee! We waited for a potato...dauphine dish as we were told it was worth the wait. When it finally came it was not completely cooked through. When the manager finally acknowledged our presence he credited us for the potatoes. Awful experience and when taking in the price it is inexcusable.More

I had high hope brining friends and family to this up-scale restaurent for a dinner. There is a fixed or $50 per person deposit requirement if you make reservation for a group of 6 or more. The food was good, materials were fresh, the cooking...was not bad but did not exceed my expectation. The desert portion is very big but taste good not great. Overall the service was okay. The waiter was polite but did not provide much assistance, if he can observe some of the guests are from foreign countries he could have done more. Even though the main waiter said no rush and we can take as much time as we need, the dish collection seemed very eager to collect our desert dishes as quick as possible, even when there were still some left. I didn't feel that an easy and comfortable environment was provided. The collaborate parking ticket was less-than-half offset by a coupon. Considering the whole experience I don't think I'll come here again.More

We made the 20-minute walk in the freezing cold to Joe Muer's to get away from the kids for an hour and enjoy some oysters and Champagne. Unfortunately, it was a Monday and sushi and the raw bar are unavailable on Sunday or Monday. It...was noted on the print menu, but I saw nothing when looking over the website :( We shared a tuna tartare app that was very good instead.More
