I visited Joe Muir Seafood at the Detroit Renaissance Center during my business travels to Detroit. The location is prime as the restaurant overlooks the river and a great view of Canada. When I travel I always look for a great seafood restaurant and Joe Muir's hit the mark. The menu selection was vast with many appetizers to chose from... More

Stopped in here and decided to eat at the bar instead of waiting for a table. The wait staff was very professional and the food was excellent. The mussels were probably the best I have ever had or at least the best in a very long time. The sweet tomato soup was quite good. All 3 of us enjoyed our... More

The restaurant was completely booked, but we need to add three additional people to our reservation for 10. The restaurant politely accommodated us. Seafood was great, especially the shrimp, lobster and mussels

Walked to the Ren Cen from the Auto Show at Cobo Hall. Very sad walk through a nearly vacant shopping mall portion of the 1/2 floor of the Renaissance Center. A bright, busy spot back in the corner. Excellent service and excellent food. I had the bacon wrapped scallops for ~$40. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars... More

Let me start with saying that my scallop entree was tasty. 5 nice sized scallops wrapped in bacon with brussels sprouts and butternut squash in a pommegranite sauce. But $38? In Detroit? I understand every city has that high priced restaurant where you take your business clients or your rich uncle, but the prices were over the top in my... More

I’m reluctant to say anything negative about Detroit restaurants because we want to see them all succeed, most are trying hard, and they are part of our city’s resurgence. BUT, on January 6 I made a 6:30 pm reservation for January 14 for three at Joe Muer’s Seafood when it was confirmed that a table along the windows overlooking the... More

NYE at Joe Muer was nice. The wait staff (well, our waiter) was just ok at best but the food was fantastic. The hostess was great - changed us from a table of 2 to a table of 6 at our request to accommodate a family who did not have a res. Happy New Year.
