We were staying in the Renaissance Center, arriving late with plans to eat and head over to Joe Louis for a show. Joe Muer is in the First Level connected to the valet. It's an amazing room with an incredible view of the River and Windsor, Ontario. Waiters wear white coats, and offer amazing service. The food was enjoyable, but... More

We had drinks and I had the scallops and the whole group split the macaroni and cheese and blue crab potatoes. Wow. Everything was perfect, the atmosphere on the river is fantastic. Good drinks and a great time. Expensive - well beyond that of most higher end restaurants - and worth it.

Great location on the Detroit river with Canada in the background. A table by the window is a must. World class staff from Ava as hostess, Sied as your waiter and Chris as your table attendant. This is the team you want. The menu is extensive and the wine list is deep. For a special evening or to treat yourself... More

This place has been around a long time but I'm not sure why. The food was OK. Everything else was excellent. The service, the ambience, the attention to detail but the focus should be on the food.

Joe Muer's was suggested to us by the staff at the DIA. We were promptly seated without a reservation about 6 on a Friday evening. The restaurant was quite full. Our server, Sam, was knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered a drink and we were looking at the menu when a gentleman approached the table and asked how everything was. I... More

I know my titles celebrates the sushi, but I don't think you could find an item on the menu that isn't great for the taste buds. I will say that a few of us in my group had sushi to start and thought it was some of the best we have ever eaten. The service was also outstanding! We had... More

Excellent incarnation of the "old" Joe Muer's, with several improvements. First -and it's a big one- just like the big boys they take reservations!!! And they are necessary at prime time, especially for the outdoor area and river view tables. Second- much better location, in the GM building (RenCen) and a contemporary decor. Riverside setting is fabulous. Third - all... More

The Muer family dominates Detroit-area dining. However, at least for me, Joe Muer Seafood is the top of the heap. Riverside view, great atmosphere, outstanding service and a delicious and broad menu make this one of my favorite spots.

My family and I were celebrating my Birthday dinner here on Saturday evening. The food was outstanding. Seafood and steaks were perfectly cooked. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. I was very pleased. My husband had mentioned that it was my bday and it was not acknowledged (which was ok w/ me!!) but other than that... The sushi there was very good. Dessert looked delicious although I did not try any. Service was very good and professional. We had a lovely table with a nighttime view of the Detroit River and Canada.
