Better than you think

I know that everyone thinks in order to get good bar-b-que one has to go the world famous Slow's of Detroit. Even Guy Fieri came to Detroit and went to Slow's. The problem is he never stopped at Red Smoke on Monroe Street in Greektown. The food at Red Smoke is better than Slow's. I work in... read more

Modern restaurant setting that comes off as appealing and falls short of delivering... I am far from a "foodie" but I had my taste buds set for good BBQ and this was far from good BBQ. It was palatable at best, with the best tasting meat chewy & fatty. I slathered sauce on to help get some taste and get... More

Been here a few times over the last couple of years. Always good food and great service, nice atmosphere great place to go before a game or event, they really know how to get you in and out for your event without feeling rushed. Cornbread fantastic!!!

This was actually a good place for a rib and brisket dinner on a cold night with gals weekend. I had the half slab Carolina ribs and added the poblano and red smoke sauce which tendered a great spicy combo!! I ordered the plain Mac and cheese side with the jalapeño bread. I enjoyed it very much and warmed me... More

Went on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm as a party of 8. The restaurant wasn't busy and our service was not very good. We were there two hours and some of us never received a refill on our drinks. We ordered a variety of different meals. The back ribs were ok but dry, the apple wood chicken was good,... More

I ordered a chicken caesar salad to-go and the server said it would be 5 - 10 minutes. I went to the LQ store next door and came back, waited another 10 minutes and she came over and told me she was sorry, she heard me say chicken caesar salad but she told the kitchen “greek” and asked if that... I prefer this to Slows. More varied menu although the corn bread would be better if it was just corn bread without the jalapeño's. 5 different sauces to choose from to suit every one.

Stopped in here for a bite and a beer before the Red Wings game. Menu had a few interesting options. Had a good meal in quick order. Service was very friendly all the way around. Place was busy but they kept everything moving at a very good pace. Above average BBQ and recommended.

We visited Red Smoke recently on the recommendation of a good friend. I'll admit, I usually don't do BBQ/smokehouse restaurants as I'm pretty picky about my BBQ... With that said, I thought Red Smoke was O.K. I wish I could remember our server's name...he was great...developed a great rapport with our table, was friendly, quick and efficient and had a... More

Very good food the Greektown area. Not the best barbecue that I have had but definitely good enough to recommend and to go back to. Lots of restaurant options in the area so tough competition but I will still choose to go here.
