We visited Red Smoke recently on the recommendation of a good friend. I'll admit, I usually don't do BBQ/smokehouse restaurants as I'm pretty picky about my BBQ... With that said, I thought Red Smoke was O.K. I wish I could remember our server's name...he was great...developed a great rapport with our table, was friendly, quick and efficient and had a... More

Very good food the Greektown area. Not the best barbecue that I have had but definitely good enough to recommend and to go back to. Lots of restaurant options in the area so tough competition but I will still choose to go here.

went out for a walk from the Ren Center looking for a bite to eat. ended up finding Red Smoke. Smelled delightful as we walked in the door. decided to sit at the bar and give the place a chance. really nice menu with all the typical things you would expect to find at a bbq joint. ended up splitting... I had the rib and pulled pork platter for dinner and it was delicious. The service was good in spite of our party size of 18! Food came out fast and hot. If you are a fan of deep fried pickles, check them out here. The atmosphere caters to sports fans on their way to or from Red Wings, Tigers... More

Wow! The food at the Red Smoke was excellent. I had the pulled pork and spareribs. This was some of the best BBQ I have had. I am from NC and this rivaled some really good NC BBQ. The smokey taste was great. The BBQ sauce I enjoyed was the Molasses-Cherry and several of the other BBQ sauces on the... More

Ordered a bowl of gumbo -- got a cup. It was barely warm and not spicy at all. Ordered a cheeseburger -- got a hamburger. It was OK, but without the jalapeño cheese, it was nothing special. Plus, they might as well not even give you the cole slaw -- I think there was maybe one forkful.

After a great tour of the Renaissance Center, we took a walk into Greektown and stumbled upon Red Smoke BBQ, which we had seen referenced in a Detroit travel publication. We are known to seek out BBQ restaurants wherever we travel, and we're happy to have found this one. The food was great (we each ordered pulled pork sandwiches), the... More

You must try the mac and cheese and collard greens! The only let down is that I'm not a fan of bbq sauce and the meat dishes arent amazing without it.

Visited here just before going to the wings and leafs game. Service was very good, and quick. Food was very good, arrived hot, and came out quick. I liked the idea that I could pick my own sauce and also could mix and match. Would definitely and will go back again.
