Okay: this is not a big date night kind of place that centers around a high-end dinner. But if you have an agenda downtown and want a nice-paced, not too expensive BBQ meal to energize you, this place rates. The pulled pork sandwich and the apple smoked all natural chicken dinner were both moist and tasty. 5 sauces are available... More

Red Smoke has a variety of Carolina, Memphis, Texas, and St. Louis BBQ so while it may not make hardcore BBQ lovers happy, it was perfect for our diverse group from across the country. The fried pickles were delicious and I also enjoyed the lean brisket. The noise level is fairly high but it is a cool atmosphere and accommodated... More

I was in town on business and staying in Greektown at the casino. After a pretty lame Detroit River dinner cruise, I was still hungry and stopped into Red Smoke. I had a small sampler that had four bones of ribs and my choice of another meat...I chose the brisket. The ribs were meaty and the brisket was very good.... More

We came in for an early dinner. There were only people seated at 2 other tables when we arrived. The host was busy socializing with the bar tender and another waitress so it took a while for him to acknowledge us and seat us. We ordered 2 sandwiches (pulled chicken and pulled pork). My chicken was pretty dry, even though... More

We tried the barbeque at Red Smoke. The food was good. We had pulled pork. For sides we had mac and cheese and coleslaw. Both good. The food is a little pricey. But it is pretty decent bbq if you want something other than greek food. We didn't have room for dessert at Astoria.

The food was great, atmosphere was great. Would definitely go back for more. We ordered the pulled pork, brisket, and Cobb salad. Everything was delicious but the pulled pork hit it out of the park!!

A colleague recommended this restaurant downtown Detroit. It came out that was not a good colleague... I had a bad feeling at the beginning, my Pepsi felt as it was mixed with plain water. I had ribs, poor quality ribs, along with potatoes fried on too-many-times-used oil, and a kind of a cheese cake with a lot of sugar inside... More

I've been going to Red Smoke for 4 years now, every time I'm in Detroit I go at least once, if I'm there for a weekend, I get there twice. Ribs, pulled pork and brisket are my the best! Great place to eat and affordable.

i thought everything was great from the chicken and the sauces. The workers were very good as they explained the different types of sauces and what they taste like.

This is one of the nicer places to eat in the downtown area near the greektown casino. The decor is clean and modern. Grab a seat by the windows on Monday to watch the summer bike show and interesting characters that bring their bikes out. Craziness! The food was good to above average but not overly spectacular. I had the... More
