Pretty Solid

I came here because it was close to the Aloft hotel, and it was raining, and I was hungry. It was surprisingly good. The spicy minestrone we reasonably spicy. The pastas are house made, which is great. I had the pappardelle, but they let me switch out the regular meat sauce for the lamb ragu... read more

I thought the food was okay, but nothing to write home about. I could think of many other Italian restaurants that are better, like Mario's for one.

I was traveling with family who enjoy Italian food. I do not; however, I really enjoyed Angelina Italian Bistro. I would recommend it. Prices were good too. The whole family enjoyed,

Hi I was staying at the Aloft and this looked like the best nearby option. It was solid, good Italian food -- wouldn't say it was one of the best Italian places I have been, but was happy with the food and service. I got the salmon and a spinach salad and a glass of chianti. all were solid. It... More

This is an amazing restaurant right in the middle of all the city action - The Fox, The Opera House, Comerica Park, Campus Martius, all the action.

Located next to the Detroit Opera House and within a baseballs throw of Comerica Park, Angelina Italian Bistro could not be located in a better place. Our server, Jason, was very personable and fun. As the restaurant filled up, however, we did see him less often than you'd expect. The menu options were good. We had a table of 9... More

Awesome! Tender, sweet squash and just enough! I was part of a large gathering of about 50-60 people invited (as part of a convention downtown) so I must say up front that I did not pay the bill or even know the prices. We were given a small selection of entrees, a red sauce pasta, salmon, a chicken dish and... More

This restaurant is across the street from the Aloft hotel and about a block from the Fillmore theater. We sampled a few appetizers here and all were very good. We arrived around 5 p.m., so we beat the dinner or happy hour rush and had no issues with service at the bar. They had a pretty decent wine list and... More

Angelina's was the best choice we have made before attending the theater downtown. We had reservations, which is HIGHLY recommended. We were seated promptly by one of the big windows as we had requested. All four of us ordered something different and I heard no complaints. I had the butternut squash ravioli and would order it again. The food was... More

We were out for my Birthday to see a show downtown at the FOX, and hubby looked for a place close by. He found Angelina and it was a great choice. The proximity to the Opera House, Music Hall. Gem Theatre, FOX, etc make it a convenient location. Upfront, we let our server know that we were going to a... More
