Wasn't too thrilled with Roast. Best thing about it was the table next to us because they were Steeler fans. The octopus appetizer was underwhelming and a bit tougher than usual. The main course took a long time to be served after the tizers (15+minutes). Oh yeah, the iceberg salad was tasteless and based on the temp of the plate/bowl... More

The server was most helpful! Even tho happy hour was only at the bar, he gave us happy hour pricing...then since both of us eat very little, he happily had our steak split, they even cut it in pieces for Jim. The rib eye steak was tasty, and done as ordered....med rare. A nice piece of meat. The sides are... More

This place is the real deal great food and service. If budget is a concern stay away. My son and I both had the Ribeys which was cooked perfectly but I thought was over seasoned. Wine was great. Apps fantastic we shared the pig tails and fois gras. Bill came to 300 plus tip for the both of us with... More

The service and ambiance were very nice. But the food is just OK. I'd eat somewhere else. The hanger steak was extremely salty, making me want to slice off the crust, which is usually such a delicious part of a steak. I actually watched the kitchen cooking someone else's meat and it looked crazy all coated in salt, but I... More

We recently took our neighbors out for our yearly dinner. We look for the best restaurants for this special occasion. This year we went to Roast. Certainly the reputation that Roast has earned is deserved for the most part but there are some areas that a restaurant with this reputation can improve. Good Points: I love Open Table restaurants (such... More

My husband and I ate here in December, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had in a restaurant. We split an order of the appetizer special - burrata with pancetta - which was out of this world delicious, possibly the best part of the meal. As my entree, I ordered the Lamb chops with eggplant... 6 of us tried this resturant. Not one of us got a decent burger. All way over done and expensive. Too many really good places around Rochester to get a great burger. We were all Michael Symons fans so it was a big dissapointment.

My wife and I recently visited this restaurant for dinner. After being seated at the bar we were served by one of the most pretentious human beings we have ever met. It really set the tone for the entire night. By scoffing at our wine choice, to being more interested in showing his cocktail shaking skills to young women than... More

This could possibly be one of the finer meals I've had for quite some time. We had early 5pm reservations so we could make the 730 hockey game on New Years Eve. The meal started with a complimentary glass of champagne, which was a nice touch. The meal itself was off a preset menu for the night which is understandable.... More

Was a good meal, heard it was a great meal and a great experience. The food was good but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. I can't say anything bad but for the money I felt it should have been great. To rival Ruth Chris and Mortons the food needs a lil work. The atmosphere is nice and it's cool... More
