We loved our meal. Began with the bone marrow appetizer. It was flavorful and not overworked. I had filet mignon with crab and my husband ny strip. We had side of fried brussels (get them!) and whipped potatoes (pass on those). The food was tremendous, portions were great, atmosphere was perfect for a fun night out and service was on... More

Went for a birthday dinner --had higher expectations than what experienced. Waiter was great, food was nothing really to get excited about. For $330.00 for two, I would have expected to walk away happier and actually was not happy about our upset stomachs the next morning. Would not go back.

Upon walking in I loved the place!! Hostesses smiles for miles, and the place is beautiful. Gave my party name and waited at the bar as I was early. Bar was real busy as it was Happy Hour. Squeezed into a seat and was acknowledged by a very nice bartender. Recommended the happy hour Pinot Gris and even though it... More

There are better values in dining in downtown Detroit. Frankly I thought the menu was tortured-- trying so hard to be different or unique that the food combinations were uncomfortable. And pricey! Not an entree below $25-- and salads, soups and sides are ala carte! If dinner for two (without drinks or appetizers) costs $85 the food should be exceptional... More

Delicious food in a very nice atmosphere. Michelle our server was terrific--friendly and attentive, very professional. The roasted pork shank was succulent and fell off the bone. The chicken was equally as delicious. Being able to watch the kitchen staff was fun and entertaining. The french fries were very addictive. We loved the peanut butter bread pudding too. The wine... Our Waitress was great and knowledgeable. Perfect personality for the job, maybe to good because she made it sound soooo goood, and it was good but not that good. Could be that my expectation was high since Michael is a culinary genius. My steak was cooked perfectly the way it was ordered and was good, but it just lacked that... More

Very good restaurant, pricey, but you expect that with Michael Symon's name on it. We had a nice table in the corner with very good service, I think it helped that my daughter is a regular and they knew her by sight! The menu was quite unique and delicious, but you could still get very good fish and steak. We... More

We sat at the bar with Zan, an awesome bartender, for dinner before the DTW Beck concert. We met Joseph Allerton, the sommelier and GM of Roast. We proceeded to feast on a dozen east coast oysters. We shared the shaved root salad, then came the duck breast with apricots and watercress. The wine of choice was an Anthill Farms... More

There with a group of six, relaxed service, very good food (even for those who are not big meat-eaters).
