First of all, I have to say that I love Detroit. This city has a bad reputation, and that's really unfair. Anyway, I had been wanting to try Roast for a long time, and I was definitely not disappointed. Everything about it is top notch. It is gorgeous, comfortable, and extremely well-run. The cocktails were amazing. Mine (Aviator) was rather... More

I was in Detroit and stayed at The Westin, where ROAST is located. I was unsure if I wanted a "fancy" meal so I asked the concierge about the restaurant and they highly recommended it. So, I tried it and was not disappointed! The service was excellent and the food was amazing. It was a relaxed atmosphere and I would... More

Had drinks and a snack before a ball game and dinner after. Sat at the bar both times. Service was friendly and helpful. The food is really yummy. Really likes the lamb ribs and the tomato salad. Can't help on deserts because we were done after the entree.

This place is always crowded, and it is probably because it is located in a downtown hotel (Westin) and the guests and probably un-nerved to go out on foot and take their chances being safe. We ate there one night and I ordered the branzini fish and my son ordered the filet mignon. Told the server I wanted the fish... More

Have always enjoyed the food, from beef to roasted brussel sprouts and the cocktails too. Try the corpse reviver!

Service was amazing! Our server was knowledgable, enthusiastic, and attentive. Bar & wine selections were great. My steak was just okay (new york strip), but my husband's (ribeye) was melt-in-your-mouth excellent. The marrow appetizer was over salted. The brussels sprouts were delicious (we considered getting another order). For dessert, we shared "the bar" and it was very good. We had... More

Took my girlfriend here before a concert and was so glad we gave it a try. Shared the Porterhouse and it was excellent. It did have a sauce on it, which I would have preferred to have been served on the side so I could enjoy the quality of the steak. Otherwise, it was tender, perfectly cooked, and huge. We... More

We made reservations for Roast as we LOVED his restaurant Lola in Cleveland, Ohio. We were not disappointed. Two of us had his smoked pork chop and it was amazing! The creaminess of the polenta with the medium cooked pork chop and the caramelized onions was full of flavor and all paired so well with each other - highly recommend.... More
