I popped in for a coffee on a Sunday morning, and left having eaten a couple of pastries with my latte. Their selection of middle eastern baked goods is extensive. Our party tried 8 different offerings with unanimous smiles and tummy-rubbing sighs of contentment. We did not try them, but the European pastries were beautiful. I brought a prepackaged tray... I go to Shatila when i feel the need to impress! They have consistently served the best Baklava in town, if not the USA. Just like eveything, it comes with a price. At Shatila, there's a wait; probably 20 minutes or so before you can enjoy the taste. But in my opinion it's worth every second and every penny. Great... More

I've seen Shatila grown and blossom into the beautiful bakery that it is today. Step into the glass-enclosed building and you'll be greeted with the syrupy smell of cake and pistachio, the soothing ripples of a stone waterfall and the warm glow of fairy lights that wind around the synthetic palm trees. The ambience is beautiful, and the desserts are... More

Delicious Middle Eastern sweets. All kinds of baklava, tasty pasteries, ice cream, savory pies and fresh smoothies and juices.

If you like desserts, especially small portions where you can pick them up with your hands and it's gone in three bites, you will love this place. I often get their assorted box to go when I have parties. It's always a hit. It's one of the highlights of the Detroit area and I would strongly suggest you visit them.

We like this place so much we went 2 times in one day. The desserts counters are filled with every imaginable treat, for take out or to eat there (we did both). The coffee bar on the other side served good coffee too.

Beautiful!! Edible Masterpieces ! Best description for the cakes I have purchased. After receiving 2 cakes for my birthday in July .. I have returned each month, since to purchase cakes and pastries for other special events for family and friends. I like cakes that are not too sweet, light but flavorful. The staff were friendly and helpful as I... More
