Bad beginning great ending

The service was lousy at the beginning until we complained to the manager. After that the service improved dramatically and the manager provided complimentary appetizers plus a free desert for my birthday

Seems that the Chuck Muer chain restaurants all taste the same and have a very similar menu. I was pleasantly surprised that Big Fish had a little better menu than the others. I ordered sautéed lake perch which was fairly good. Overall, the meal just felt very average. Was better than Gandy Dancer, but similar to Meriwethers. I would go... More

Big Fish was such a surprise! Truly good food, fun servers, and on Wednesday evenings they have live music by the most fabulous band ever! They are called Dr. Pocket and they play a great mix of music by the Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Chicago,Motown, etc. A fun band, with great singers. We sat outside and it was so much... More

Had dinner here and the service was outstanding. The bread delivered was very good and I started with the fish chowder. It was very good, but a little on to cool side for me. Could have come out to the table hotter. My main course was fair at best. It really lacked any flavor that would make it stand out.... More

It can't be possible that Big Fish in Dearborn, MI is still one of the Muer Family establishments! There has been a lot of changes (menu, recipes, cook no doubt, and management). Was in a party of 3 yesterday, Sunday afternoon at about 4PM. The first clue was that there was only about 4 cars in the parking lot and... More

I had eaten here many years ago. At that time it was owned by Chuck Muer. I was told it no longer is. Located near the Town Center shopping mall, Big Fish is a large restaurant with seating inside and out. Since it was raining, I decided to have dinner at the bar. The interior is nicely done, with the... More

Growing up in Detroit, a trip to the original Joe Muer's on Gratiot Avenue was always a special occasion. Standing in line for entry was common place. When closed, Joe's son Chuck Muer carried on the tradition and established a chain of seafood restaurants. Chuck Muer was lost at sea in 1993 in a Florida storm. But his restaurant's still... More

Quite frequently, I spend my early afternoon at the Big Fish just in time for their happy hour. The waiting staff are super friendly and will warmly welcome you. I usually come here with some friends to spend a couple of hours tasting their wine and Hors d'oeuvre. The atmosphere is cheery and the crowd well behaved so you really... More

We visit Dearborn regularly and always eat here. Very good food and pleasant staff. If the Comfort Inn makes your reservation you are treated with a free appetizer. We are never disappointed and we are seafood lovers. A very good choice

The food I had was good, certainly not the best seafood I have had but for the price this was a good place for dinner. The ambiance of the restaurant and the creative drink menu was a big plus.
