Fun place for history buffs and kids alike

a bit pricey but it is all you can eat so go hungry. servers dressed in period clothes/costumes and played their part of this being a tavern/inn.

The idea of this restaurant was wonderful. It's in the Old Greenfield Village & set up as it would have been historically. The menu is based on recipes from the age; however, that doesn't account for why my husband's chicken was so over cooked it was almost inedible or that my green vegetables were very gritty & bitter. The beer... More

While visiting Greenfield Village, we dined at the Eagle Tavern. The atmosphere was great, but the food was disappointing. To be honest, the best part of the meal was the bread that they served us when we first arrived. If you like to dine in a historic atmosphere, I would still recommend dining there, but if you are looking for... More

The staff were friendly and informative (tavern straws in the early 1800s were made from noodles!) and the food was quite good. Everyone is seated at trestle tables, but my husband and I shared one end and another couple the other. There's a selection of period drinks available, craft beers, and local wines, as well as lemonade.

Fun place to eat. Cold on a rainy day, but hot beverages were available. Children's menu available. Wonderful late lunch.

We've been here several times over the years and this most recent visit was not just a disappointment but an expensive let down. The menu choices were way too limited; the authentic history imparted by servers was completely missing - not a single historical reference or attempt to provide the historical experience that is promoted by this restuarant. It certainly... More

This is one of our favorite places to eat! We always eat when visiting Greenfield Village or the museum. And sometimes we drive up just to eat. It is a step back in time 150 years, so of course the menu is limited! Go online and see what is being served before you go.

Was not expecting to have one of the best vegetarian meals ever here! I enjoyed the ambiance of the Eagle Tavern. It was set up to look just as it might have back in the mid 1800's. The decor, lighting & even the food reflected this time period & was very authentic! My entree was the Spring Noodles with Peas,... More

We have a yearly pass for The Henry Ford so we often come for lunch at the Eagle Tavern. The menu is limited but everything is delicious. You do share a table with others so this may not be for you if you are uncomfortable sitting close to strangers during your meal.

This is located in the Greenfield Museum near the chapel and it's pretty good. I'm glad we did not order the main course - the soup was enough. For starters there's a variety of breads, bean, pickle, jam, and butter. We ordered both the mock turtle soup and bean/cabbage soup which were excellent! We ordered the pitcher of sasparilla (well...
