a fave of ours

This is one of our favorite places to eat! We always eat when visiting Greenfield Village or the museum. And sometimes we drive up just to eat. It is a step back in time 150 years, so of course the menu is limited! Go online and see what is being served before you go.

Was not expecting to have one of the best vegetarian meals ever here! I enjoyed the ambiance of the Eagle Tavern. It was set up to look just as it might have back in the mid 1800's. The decor, lighting & even the food reflected this time period & was very authentic! My entree was the Spring Noodles with Peas,... More

We have a yearly pass for The Henry Ford so we often come for lunch at the Eagle Tavern. The menu is limited but everything is delicious. You do share a table with others so this may not be for you if you are uncomfortable sitting close to strangers during your meal.

This is located in the Greenfield Museum near the chapel and it's pretty good. I'm glad we did not order the main course - the soup was enough. For starters there's a variety of breads, bean, pickle, jam, and butter. We ordered both the mock turtle soup and bean/cabbage soup which were excellent! We ordered the pitcher of sasparilla (well... While stepping back in time during your visit to Greenfield Village, enjoy a meal from the past. I had the brook trout with roasted veggies and found it to be quite good, especially the veggies. My husband was very happy with his cabbage soup while my daughter had roast pork. The serving size was modest and when someone asked from... More

Real living history! The people are dressed in period clothes and serve you in second person. The food is great! It is reminiscent of the time period for experience. I had the savory noodles which included peas, mushrooms, and creamy sauce. I also ordered almond cake which was served in white, sweet , creamy sauce. Highly recommended.

1850-era recipes, great waitstaff, generous portions, and good food...what's not to like? They also serve a number of good beers, and a wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages. It might be easier to go at the end of a day of walking through Greenfield Village, and when most of the people have already eaten lunch. We went at 3:30 in the... More

The fish pie was very good and they had some good booze on hand. The food seemed very traditional and true to the time.

The food was excellent. The cabbage and bean soup was wonderful, as was the spring greens with bacon salad. We also got assorted breads, preserves and butter. The atmosphere was wonderful. Great place to eat and recharge.

Food and setting is from the 1800s. Food is prepared as it would have been at that time. Not much in terms of special orders. Not for the picky eater or for those who want burgers and fries.
