After several hours of touring Greenfield Village on a warm day, my husband and I wanted something light to eat. We couldn't tell if that was available from the menu posted outside of the Eagle Restaurant, so we asked the costumed gentleman standing outside. He directed us inside, to the tavern, where the atmosphere felt like an authentic old-time tavern.... More

Was at The Village yesterday to see the Old Car show. Was starving so decided to go to the Tavern. I stood out just outside the door and listened to the host give his spew about the history of the place and how it is a world class restaurant now. (I know quite a few chefs in the area including... Had lunch here with parents during our visit to Greenfield Village. I wasn't impressed. Waitress was surly (was she in character as a wench or just rude?) and when I asked about the kids' menu, she informed me "It's only for kids!" Ok, I just didn't want a big meal and it was 90F so how could? I settled for... More

For purposes of exposing visitors to the experience travelers went through a hundred years ago, you will be seated with other customers at long tables. The waiters are great fun, they will ask you where you are from and tell you how long it must have taken you to get there. Food is OK

It was nice to hit a top rated restaurant without intentionally hitting a top rated restaurant. We were at the village and decided we wanted to sit and have lunch, and something more than a burger. So, we tried Eagle Tavern. Very cool place. Limited menu with things you probably won't find other places since it's keeping with an 1850's... More

Had a late lunch here on Sunday. We were really looking forward to it as we so enjoyed it a few years ago. We were somewhat disappointed this time. We wanted the chicken pot pie, but it wasn't on the current menu. I was looking forward to the homemade pickles and was disappointed to find only carrots and cauliflower. Last... More

While spending the day at Greenfield Village we were looking for something to eat for lunch. We were very pleasantly surprised about our wonderful experience at Eagle Tavern. The entire restaurant makes you feel like you're back in the 1800s. The room lit only by candlelight which can actually make it hard to see your food but still is charming.... More

I love this place. All the staff is acting in period and dressed in period from the 1800's. The menu changed throughout the year and each new menu is in the style of food from the era. Once in a while they have a recipe that is kinda meh, but all in all this place is great. The bread basket... More
