Nice Food

No electric lights is how you know you're in an 1850's tavern. The food was delicious and the servers were very nice.

The service was good. The food was very bland. The rabbit in the rabbit stew was 3 front legs off of the skinniest rabbit I've ever seen. Maybe a total of 2 oz of meat. The stew was watery and had exactly two small pieces of potato and 2 small pieces of carrot with abundant celery. Very pricy for that.

Neither the Ford dining nor the Greenfield Village provide many options for vegetarians. The vegetable noodles were delicious but my stomach hurt later -- I think perhaps the 1800s cookbook based recipes may be too buttery rich for my system? My husband ordered chicken and thought it was delicious. The service was great -- they seat you at a family... More

Not a kid friendly menu. Chicken fingers and mac & cheese for the little ones was all and it wasn't very good. Staff was friendly but slow. Adult entrées were good but pricey.

So very worth the money spent here. If you walk out hungry it on your own accord. I was stuffed with homemade delish foods that you cannot get in stores. A must stop!

Period correct décor, and all menu items reflect the food of the era. My hub and I (60s) savored every flavor burst. I normally dislike community seating (long, shared tables), but it's fine here. It's not inexpensive but worth the price.

a bit pricey but it is all you can eat so go hungry. servers dressed in period clothes/costumes and played their part of this being a tavern/inn.

The idea of this restaurant was wonderful. It's in the Old Greenfield Village & set up as it would have been historically. The menu is based on recipes from the age; however, that doesn't account for why my husband's chicken was so over cooked it was almost inedible or that my green vegetables were very gritty & bitter. The beer... More

While visiting Greenfield Village, we dined at the Eagle Tavern. The atmosphere was great, but the food was disappointing. To be honest, the best part of the meal was the bread that they served us when we first arrived. If you like to dine in a historic atmosphere, I would still recommend dining there, but if you are looking for... More

The staff were friendly and informative (tavern straws in the early 1800s were made from noodles!) and the food was quite good. Everyone is seated at trestle tables, but my husband and I shared one end and another couple the other. There's a selection of period drinks available, craft beers, and local wines, as well as lemonade.
