Extraordinary Arabic local restaurant.

It was our first night in the Detroit area, and, staying in Dearborn, I wanted to see if there were any recommended Arabic restaurants. Trip Advisor's reliable reviews steered us to Al Ameer. The food was perfectly seasoned and the wait staff was very helpful with describing the menu. It was a great introduction to a new genre of food for us!

As usual, I got a consistently good meal at Al Ameer. The hummus was spot on, the bread soft and chewy, and the shawarma was juicy and not dry. The waitstaff are used to the fast pace environment, and are familiar with all items on the menu. It's not over priced, and the food is plentiful. I'd recommend the garlic... More

My first time ever eating mediterranean food. The outside will fool you. You wouldn't think it was as nice and clean as it was. The food was delish and they give you huge portions. A $20 dollar dish of i think faddush or something like that (smothered chicken with some white gravy and brown rice with beef served with a... More

I went with a large group of people and we were seated quickly. Good food- Good rice, pita, kabobs. Everything I ate, I enjoyed.

I've had great Middle Eastern in many places. What sets this place apart is the fresh and hot pita. There is nothing worse for me to get some shwarma or lamb sauté and then get stuck with some stale pita to eat it with. Not the case at Al Ameer. You will get unlimited fresh hot pita. We went on... Dearborn isn't just any ordinary Detroit suburb. With about 100,000 people, Dearborn is its own separate city. With the nation's largest population of Arab Americans living here, Dearborn is its own WORLD. I learned of this Middle Eastern gem on the corner of Warren and Miller from seeing Andrew Zimmern stopping on a featured Travel Channel visit to the Detroit... More

I ordered the chicken gallaba. I've had it at multiple Middle Eastern restaurants, not sure what they served me, but it was terrible. Couldn't eat it. My boyfriend had the Sojuk. He really enjoyed it. Fattoush salad dressing sucks. We ordered some garlic sauce before we even ordered our appetizer and dinner, it came after our dinner was served. We... More

I am giving Al Ameer three stars rating because every time I dine there I get an issue with the waitresses and servers. Sometime they are uneducated, sometimes un-respectful, and sometimes grumpy. Defiantly they need to think about choosing the FACE of the diner. Food is nice must of the time, sometime you may get dry meat or cold food... More
