We overate because we loved, loved this food. The manager and waitress were so helpful and attentive and the hummus & pita appetizer was AMAZING (the babaganoush was good, but between the two the best one is the hummus hands down!!) Great vegetarian options for me and plenty of meat options and portion sizes for varying food interests. We made... More

Food is ok here, but not great. Simply put, there are better choices for mideastern food in the immediate area.

Great Arabic food. It started a bit dicey with wet dishes and a bit of waiting time at our table. Loved the shush kebab!!! Service turned out good and the server was very friendly once he came to us.

Friendly staff. Generous portions. Mostly Lebanese cuisine. Best Arab food in the U.S. So far. The al Ameer platter for two is a pretty good way to taste most items on the menu. Didn't realize salads on the side were charged extra. Grilled chicken was a bit too charred for our taste. Don't bother with desserts, save it for Shatila!

Al Ameer restaurant is one of the first Lebanese restaurants in the Detroit area that is still open. This place is an icon and is a must visit. The food is great and the service is usually good. I've mostly had lunches there and they have been wonderful. Try it, and if you have any issues, make sure to ask... More

My family and I have visited Al Ameer restaurant again this year. It looks like that they've done some remodeling since my visit last year. Food was great but a little pricey compared to other restaurants nearby. Service was great.

Came for lunch with work colleagues. Found the food to be good - good flavor, good portion sizes for the price. Atmosphere is definitely lacking - it's not bad, it could just be any old restaurant. Service was average - not bad, but not great.

This is without any hesitation the real thing. Arab music playing in the background. All the typical dishes of the Middle East. The hummus, which was tahini rich and creamy was one of the better ones I ever had. The fattoush crispy and fresh. The chicken shawarma was moist, succulent and tasty. The garlic sauce perfect. The rice was the... More

Stopped here during a family road trip. We tried the family platter here and had mixed feelings about the different items. The Shish Tawouk and the kafta were probably the best. The others were okay. Had better shawerma at one of the other restaurants not too far from there. See my other review.
