Description: The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large...
The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.

Always a Good Choice

The menu is always evolving...and healthy. Taste is never a question and portions are substantial. The soup selections are amazing and tasty. And don't miss the fresh baked goods...if there's any left when you get there!

Favorite place for fresh donuts, breakfast and lunch! They have a nice seasonal menu. Blue Heron is one of the only places in Cadillac to get fresh, tasty vegetarian and vegan food. Their chicken sandwiches and pesto eggs and bacon are two of my favorites.

We were looking for a place to stop for breakfast and took a chance on this. Best decision of the day. This is a must stop if your hungry for a delicious, creative and affordable breakfast. First time I've had a meal prepared with sweet potatoes, caramelized onions, mushrooms, blue cheese, spinach and two eggs. It was full of flavor. All... More

The waitress was very cheerful and helpful, which got our lunch off to an upbeat start. I ordered the lunch special, which includes a cup of soup, half of a sandwich, a salad and a cookie. Every single bite was amazing, but the roasted turkey, sliced apple, cherry preserves and sliced melted cheese sandwich was unbelievable. My taste buds were... More

This place is very accommodating and has unique food combinations...... out of the ordinary. Thai chicken soup was excellent plus a grilled squash mushroom sandwich and spring salad with pumpkin seeds with smoked salmon! That was a new twist. Where are you going to find that? I loved it and would go there again!

Every time I am home from PA I have to stop in and get a dozen doughnuts for our immediate family and a bag of doughnut holes for my father-in-law!! The doughnuts are homemade, in the store. They are quite large and so fresh and delicious! You just can't find doughnuts like that anywhere else!! You have to get there... More
