Description: The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.

Although the city of Cadillac is lacking in charm, this restaurant is a great stop if you are traveling to Northern Michigan and want to have a quick tasty meal. The menu choices are unique and there are several sandwiches and salads to choose from. On the day we dined, they had a beet sandwich, which was delicious. There is... More

There is always something good to eat at the Blueheron café. As a matter of fact it's always been top notch and very creative food. Having had breakfast and lunch here we have never gone wrong with the variety of different foods available. The potatoes are fried to perfection and the different eggs are great! I love the pesto eggs... More

Dinning with a child that needs gluten free food (Celiac Disease) while traveling is hard. Blue Heron offers excellent GF breads and has options in both their adult and children's menu. Their staff is educated and friendly. Most importantly the food was excellent and full of flavor! It was like dining in Ann Arbor but with all the appeal &... More

Clearly this is the number one eatery in Cadillac. The style, the ambiance and the menu was right in our ballpark but somehow just didn't impress to the heights reflected in the reviews. We are more than willing to concede an off day on either our part or theirs. I mean it's just a regular style bakery with a lunch... More

If your typical good lunch is one of the fast food chains or a bar burger and fries? Nothin wrong with that. Just don't expect to get that here. My wife looked on TripAdviser while we were approaching Cadillac. We normally eat at the Fisherman? place on M115 accross from the lake when we travel through this area. The Blue... More

Attention foodies! This place is great! It is a bakery/ breakfast/lunch event! Excellent quality in their baked goods! May be the best cream filled long john I ever had! Homemade breads- excellent. The cinnamon raisin bread was out of this world. It weighed what I thought was 3 lbs because of the ton of raisins! We went for lunch and... More

Best lunch of our trip! We looked at tripadvisor for lunch spot between Traverse City and Detroit! Perfect friendly service with outstanding soups and breads! Our two boys 11 and 13 loved their grilled cheese and we loved the prime rib sandwich. Homemade cookies topped off the meal! Skip the fast food and take an extra 20 minutes for family... More

We stopped here after a bike ride on the white pine trail. It was one of the best lunches I've ever had! The staff was so kind and the food was amazing. I had the roasted beet sandwich and the flavor was perfect. My husband had the blackberry jam grilled cheese and raved about it. We're also excited that they... More

Traveling thru Cadillac we found this awesome little cafe. Fresh coffee, friendly service and an amazing breakfast means we will be back. Fresh baked bread and gluten free options. Took home snickerdoodle cookies and a free loaf of bread as we were first time customers. Highly recommend a visit.
