The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.

Stopped in for breakfast at 11:30 and was pleased to find they serve breakfast all day on Saturdays. We had the Hobo Benedict (very cutely served in a pie pan) and the Michigan omelet. Food was absolutely terrific and service was very friendly and warm. They had wonderful-looking baked goods (all types of sourdough bread, donuts, muffins, cookies); though we... More

Wr stopped for lunch and were delighted with the foods. Telling you what we had might be foolish because they update the menu to capitalize on what is currently being harvested. That being said, I will rave about the blueberry lemonade, the parmesan potato soup and the grilled ham and cheese sandwich. It was so much food that I ate... More

Each of 4 friends ordered different lunch items. All were excellent. Popular spot and not large, but cozy. Glass cabinets display an array of mouth watering pastries and cookies. Plan on picking out several to take away with you. Will definitely return. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

Basic breakfast with 2 eggs, ham, potatoes, toast and coffee, with tax and tip, is over $14.00. I find this to be on the high side for this type of restaurant. The eggs were not cooked to order and the potatoes were not browned at all and so oily I couldn't eat them. Only small coffee creamers were available and... More

We met old friends for breakfast at the Blue Heron Cafe in Cadillac a fews days ago and had one of the best breakfasts ever. Of course, spending time with friends made it a special occasion, but the Roasted Beet Hash and eggs made for an unforgettable meal. And, just in case you think there's a typo there, it is... More

This is a neat eclectic bakery that was the first to use the farm to plate concept. Wide selection of breakfast and lunch options. Love the homemade salad dressing.

The Blue Heron Cafe is the best place I've eaten in Cadillac. They serve breakfast and lunch, along with selling various baked goods. The lunch menu has a few sandwiches and salads, and everything is prepared fresh. The Sourdough Cuban sandwich was very good, as was the Smoked Apple and Chicken Salad. Be sure to have a fresh baked cookie... More

As a long-time resident of Cadillac I mostly knew of the Blue Heron as a bakery so when I saw how many rave reviews were here I decided to give their menu a try. I had the Sourdough Cuban while my friend had the Pork & Pepper Tortilla minus the jalapenos and the lunch was served very fast and was... More

Stopped on our way north, most of downtown Cadillac was out of power, Blue Heron was not. Good breakfast and great oatmeal, raisin cookies. Did not get a free loaf of bread as a first-timer as noted in another review. Good selection of baked goods, very friendly place.
