The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.

Nice Little Cafe in Cadillac

The Blue Heron Cafe is the best place I've eaten in Cadillac. They serve breakfast and lunch, along with selling various baked goods. As a long-time resident of Cadillac I mostly knew of the Blue Heron as a bakery so when I saw how many rave reviews were here I decided to give their menu a try. I had the Sourdough Cuban while my friend had the Pork & Pepper Tortilla minus the jalapenos and the lunch was served very fast and was... More

Stopped on our way north, most of downtown Cadillac was out of power, Blue Heron was not. Good breakfast and great oatmeal, raisin cookies. Did not get a free loaf of bread as a first-timer as noted in another review. Good selection of baked goods, very friendly place.

If you are traveling to or through Cadillac, you don't want to miss stopping at Blue Heron Cafe. Their doughnuts and baked goods are awesome!! We stop in for lunch on a regular basis. Blue Heron always has delicious salads and sandwiches, as well as out of the ordinary foods to try! They have daily soup specials that will perk... More

Great lunch find thanks to TA recommendation. First timers get a free loaf of bread! The peanut butter donuts and maple bacon rolls are out of this world. Worth pulling off US 131 for.

We had the Cuban on Sourdough and the Michigan Ham & Cheese, both we unique and delicious. A special mention has to be made for the delicious freshly made Blueberry Lemonade, it was amazing. Service was also first class.

Try it once and you will want to return! The salads are outstanding, sandwiches tasty and soups very original. Everything I had was perfect! They deserve the number one rating.

We had lunch here last Tuesday thanks to others advice here and were not disappointed. Food was great and our waitress could not have been nicer. We picked up a container of their granola on the way out and glad we did that too, been enjoying that for breakfast ever since! Highly recommend.

Stopped in for a late breakfast and was so pleasantly surprised. Bakery in the front stayed busy with what appeared to be locals "in the know" carrying out boxes of fresh donuts and pastries, as well as others for bread, bagels and more. The cafe has maybe a dozen tables, but they stayed filled from the transition from breakfast to... More
