Description: The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large...
The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.

Great bakery and more

Whether just take out bakery items or enjoying items off the menu, be sure to stop in and enjoy the relaxed homey atmosphere. The menu has unusual offerings using locally grown foods in tantalizing combinations. Great for the vegetarian or regular diet.

This is a great breakfast-lunch place. The food is always very good and they have a very friendly atmosphere. But the homemade bakery items are what keeps us coming back. We stop in often just to pick up a loaf of their sour dough bread. Some of the best I have ever had.

We decided to try this place out and were not disappointed. We were looking for a fresh and tasty lunch. Blue Heron Cafe delivered. I ordered their Bourbon Maple Glazed Salmon Salad -- delicious with goat cheese, onions, greens -- portion was large, I took some home. I also tried the chicken lemon rice soup and approve. The other thing... More

Essentially the only farm-to-table place to grab a bite in Cadillac. Great food, great bakery, reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Was again Thank you TAers, the reviews were spot on. Breakfast was great. Blue Heron has some unique specials, I had the roasted fall vegetable bowl, it was delicious. The bakery fresh bread as well as the aroma of the fresh baked items just adds to the appeal. Service was good, and food was hot. Hope to go back ext... More

I feel so sorry for this town to have this bakery as the only one in town. I got donuts with coffee. Coffee was ok. Donuts, not sure what they were, but way too much chocolate and dough was way too flaky for a donut. I even tasted the donut the next day, and it tasted the same, so how... More

In my opinion, there is no competition in Cadillac for Blue Heron Cafe. If you want a breakfast or lunch that is just a notch above the typical, this is your place. Get there early if you want some of the more popular products.

Breakfast at Blue Heron EARLY this morning. I eat there each time I visit clients in Cadillac. The room was warm, the coffee HOT, and the morning bakery smells were HEAVENLY! The service at Blue Heron is attentive, but not smothering. I HIGHLY recommend the Blue Heron.

Great menu, always excellent food. Really good soups. The owner puts food together that sparkles. Buy an extra loaf of round sourdough bread before you leave.

This is by far my favorite place to get lunch. I have always loved this place from my very first visit and now every time my mom and I head into town to show we eat here. My favorite is the chicken pesto sandwich and whatever soup they have that day. I usually buy a loaf of bread and some... More
