Great Food

Dined here during the Mardi Gras celebration on a Saturday night. Food excellent and reasonable. Leans toward Cajun and southern. Cornbread, BBQ, etc. Funky bar on river. Crowded and noisy. The most disturbing thing was there apparent desire to get rid of us ASAP. Our appetizers, main course and... read more

Been here a few times and it is always great. Have had the pulled pork, chicken and the sliced brisket. The garlic spinach and mac and cheese sides are also very very good. They will serve corn bread when you sit down and it is moist and warm. Good beer list as well.

We have had lunch here on several occasions and always enjoy coming here on our frequent trips to SW MI. House made cornbread was moist, flavorful and delicious. House made breads, house cured meats and other nice touches make this a must visit spot. Great beer and wine list too

Didn't get to enjoy dinner as much as we'd hoped, as the 1 year old was in true form, but we left with an overall satisfied appreciation. We had the brisket and Cajun pasta, which were both very nicely done. The cornbread was heavenly and they have a nice selection of local brews on tap. Worth the scenic drive along... More

Fun, fast paced restaurant. Good menu that does not often change but the offerings are generous. It's a smoke house so they offer ribs and pulled pork which I do not like, everybody else does though. I can always find something for myself like the "Three Sisters" dish, polenta and vegetables. You should go there. The only drawback is that... More

We have been to Wheatberry's a couple of times and enjoyed it. The menu is diverse and has a variety of items at decent prices and the wine and beer selection is decent and the desserts are not the typical food service specials (the desserts were good but nothing to write home about other than it wasn't the standard cheesecake... Kids meals are reasonably priced and are good quality food. My boys love the ribs and the chicken fingers. My husband had shrimp and grits. A small portion for a man. I had the brisket sandwich with garlic fries. Delicious. This particular visit I noticed the cleanliness of the restaurant was just not good. Sticky floors, dirty chairs, and flies... More

We arrived within a few minutes of opening on a Saturday morning for lunch during Lobster Fest which had been talked up by everyone we'd met the previous day touring the Harbor Country. They were out of Lobster, they were out of Lobster Bisque...the only thing not in short supply was the flies...they were everywhere: on food, on table, buzzing... More

Went here with my Dad for Easter dinner. The food was ok, don't think I'll go back again because its not my taste but they are always busy and are right next to the river. Looks like they have a nice selection of drinks if that's your thing.

The couple with us had Sirloin and Walleye. My wife had White Fish and I had the Walleye also. It was just okay. We all agreed we had better for the price. The wait staff was very good.
