Proprietors invested a lot of money in an attempt to make the Thirsty Goat work but it didn't. They closed 2014, service was very iffy food was a C plus and competing against restaurants like the Santè and Red Mesa they just could not make it.

If you have not been to the Goat in a while its time to give it another try. The menu is MUCH improved and so is the still sometimes slow service. The new emphasis on locally sourced food has raised the quality and the creativity of the food several notches. The newly finished patio with its comfortable seating is now... More

We had a large party for dinner the other night and had a great meal. There was a lot of locally grown food on the menu, food was fresh and very well prepared. They had a really good selection of local beers and fresh mint picked from the deck for the cocktails!

We don't live far from Boyne City but hadn't had the chance to try this place until recently. The atmosphere is great, they have done a great job with the interior. My husband had a burger and I had fish and chips, both were very good. They had someone singing and playing guitar, he was really good! Overall a great... More

Great location and atmosphere! Have a great outdoor patio. Problem is getting served. Took a long time for the server to come around. I think someone had to leave early, then another server had to take over our table. Some confusion. After sitting waiting we just headed down the street. I would try again.

I ordered the Goat Burger and my wife the morel pasta. Both were excellent. I was impressed by the microbrew selection and the patio was very nice. My new favorite spot!

My husband and I had dinner at The Thirsty Goat on June 12, 2013. I ordered a Bison pasty which was quite tasty. I choose sweet potato fries to go with my pasty and they were good. My husband had a hamburger topped with goat cheese and mushrooms and had goat chips with it (home made potato chips). The burger... More

Food was very good, menu was a bit limited but they had great specials. Really nice outdoor seating, no view of the water but they have tables and chairs and a little lounge area with coaches. All of the waitstaff from hostess to busboy were very nice. We will for sure go back this summer.
