Happy turn of events

My husband and I ate on the patio at Elie's because we accidentally thought we were entering Streetside Seafood, located next door. When we found there was an hour wait at Streetside, we decided to try Elie's, even though we had no idea what kind of food Elie's offers. The pink mandevilla flanking... read more

Found Elie's walking the streets of B'ham over Christmas. Stopped in for cocktails. Great ambiance, awesome bartender and cozy decorations. Brought a large group back for dinner in January and we all enjoyed our food and appetizers. They have their menu on Ipads so you can pair the drinks to your meal - cool idea.

Enjoyed the chicken kabob and tasty (garlicky) hummus, My date had the chicken chopped salad, a favorite of his. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful and was quick to refresh the plate of warm pitas. Plan to return, no doubt

My husband and kids ended up here because Toast was closed. There weren't many other kid - friendly choices nearby. The food was okay. The real shock was the prices. My husband had a Greek salad with chicken and it was $18. If the salad had been phenomenal looking, I would have said that the price was fine. But it... More

The food is exceptional. Variety of lebanese dishes. Nice bar scene. Service is good and selection of wine and beer very good. Nice outside seating in the summer.

We wanted to like this restaurant more. There were plenty of options and as vegetarians it was no problem. The food was well prepared. The service was less than enthusiastic. I also don't recall the last time we got charged extra for a soda refill (especially at their prices). The waitress was non communicative and it was crowded. So yes,... More

Pretty little Mediterrean restaurant in downtown Birmingham. I had the lamb shwarma platter. This was a platter of small pieces of lamb that had been over-cooked, hummus which was creamy and very tasty, red onions and couscous. It would have been a really great meal had the lamb not been over-cooked. A friend had the lamb meatballs which were excellent...kind... More

Went on a beautiful Saturday evening and sat outside on the dining deck (tables are very close together.) The food however was excellent. Had the Crispy Cauliflower entree as an appetizer to share. I do ot know how it was cooked but it was delicious. For main course had lamb shank which was outstanding. Good, friendly service. Will certainly be... More

Ate at a next-door restaurant, which, like ELIE has outdoor dining. The Michigan law prohibits smoking in restaurants, whether indoors or outdoors. The smoke at our table coming from Elie's outdoor dining was obnoxious. I asked to talk to the manager of Elie's. She said that she could not enforce the law because it was the owner and his friends... More

We went to Elie's with out of town friends. We were embarrased because its food an its service had deteriorated since our last visit. Our server was clueless. He delivered the main course before the appetizers were half finished. He disappeared when we needed him and virtually no knowledge of the menu. The food was lackluster and no better than... More
