The best pancakes you will ever have. The apple pancake is a must. This restaurant is NOT part of a chain even if the name may seem it is. It is a long standing institution of Birmingham. The lines are usually out the door but goes quickly. Kids and adults love this place. It's authentically old fashioned and wonderfully original!

This was our first trip to this restaurant and it will not be our last. Loved the old wood décor. Service was not bad, not super either. We were warned to get there early, which we did. By the time we left people were lined up waiting. I had crepes which are not often found on breakfast menus. There were... More

This place has it all; great food, superlative service and great pancake house ambience. The only "down side" is that it is well known, very busy and very popular. Be prepared for long lines at peak times. Nonetheless, it is well worth the wait.

Service Fair to poor and not friendly. Food fair. Would not travel 10 miles again to eat there. Ate there during earlier hours and thought staff would be more attentive when not so busy but found out differently. Not at all like the the reviews state. Would not recommend. Have had better elsewhere. Had their fresh strawberry crepes. Was not... More

While you might have a while to wait for a table, the food is delicious and very well portioned. Great meal and beverage choices and the staff are always on hand even when it's busy for service and refills. You won't leave hungry that's for sure!

The Original Pancake House is the BEST spot for breakfast or brunch. I generally order the veggie omelette with Smoked Gouda instead of Swiss. The blueberry pancakes and French toast is nothing short of amazing! Also, the bacon is phenomenal and the fresh squeezed Orange juice is positively yummy! You simply cannot go wrong! Be prepared to wait a minimum... More

I come to this particular restaurant for 1 thing only: Chocolate chip pancakes! With house made whipped cream none the less! There are some other items on the menu as well that I do enjoy from time to time, such as the crepes with seasonal fruit or even the dutch baby. If you've never been, you're really missing out! Come... More

This restaurant is famous for its fabulous breakfasts and lunches. There's always a wait unless you come after 4:00. arjudd doesn't understand its attraction - try excellent cooking, unusual menu items, wonderful specials, prompt service, and never being hurried even when the line is out into the parking lot. It is not, NOT, an International House of Pancakes franchise! The... More

This one of must stops when I'm in lower Michigan. Always a line, unless you are really early. As should be obvious the pancakes are great and the service is prompt.

This is metro Detroit's favorite breakfast place - every weekend the lines are out the building just to get a table. There's a reason: the food is great! They're known for their pancakes but everything is delicious and they have a great variety of breakfast food. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is the best. Don't be discouraged by the long... More
