A group of 11 family members in town for a wedding wanted something close to the hotel with good food. Went here based on recommendations from Trip Advisor. Don't judge by the outside appearance - actually kind of dumpy, but the inside is homey outdoors with lots of taxidermy on the walls, Easily accommodated our large group quickly. Food is... More

This was a great place!! We where on vacation and had 7 meals that we ate out. This was the best of our 7 days!! I love when you find a great locally owned restaurant.

Stopped here on the way to Bay City, noticed this place and wanted something different from the usual chain restaurants which surround it.This is a single storey wood built place next to the off ramp in Birch Run.t`s a very traditional American roadhouse, the owner was obviously a hunter, the place was decorated with dozens of hunting trophies (dead stuff on the walls)... My husband and I went here for the first time a was very satisfied with their fish and chips. We also had the breaded mushrooms and let me tell you, they were the best we have ever had! The restaurant is small, but nice atmosphere. They offer different kinds of wild game meat that you would not get at other... More

The food was terrible and my husband actually had to return his meal as it was so overdone it was inedible. We would not eat here again or recommend it to anyone.

Stop in for dinner on another Michigan road trip. O.J's has a U.P. feel to me with animal mounts and old signs hanging on the walls. Our table was slanted because the floor was tilted, showing the age and character of this old building. This is not a typical Applebees thank you!! Our go to sandwiches, Reuben and patty melt... The food was very good, the portions good. I had the lake perch sandwich; my wife the homemade chicken noodle soup. We would order both again. After two long days of shopping and fighting cold, windy weather we were ready for a good meal and good service. We got both. Every staff member looked after our table, without being obtrusive.... Located in Birch Run, the place does not look like much from the outside. But don't be fooled, the food and service is great! This was our 2nd visit and I again ordered the fried perch platter and it was superb! My wife had the gator gumbo and the crab stuffed mushrooms and she raved about both. A bonus for... More
