The Beer was Excellent

This place is a fun combination of cheese and beer. The beer options are very good. Two of us had flights of beer. One, who is not a beer drinker, selected a beer and thoroughly enjoyed it. She had Oompolishious. Spelling very approximate. I stuck with root beer and was very enjoyable. I had a... read more

Not wanting to drive far, we opted for an in town spot. Short's was the pick and we were surprised at the size of the restaurant and the number of people that were already there. We were immediately seated. Service was prompt and attentive. The sandwiches were excellent and the brew selection was amazing. No wine available but the cider... More

We always know we can get a satisfying meal and local brew at Shorts. There are very few restaurants in Bellaire so we're glad this one is there. Every year they seem to take over another store. It looks like they have three now. They have a great selection of beers and are happy to offer free samples to help... More

I need not rave about Short's, as it has a very loyal and dedicated following which is evidenced by its popularity and its expansion. I like brewpubs and this is a quintessential example of the best on offer. Food is wonderful, all beers I tried are classic. Bands on weekends would make this brick-walled location loud, but the stage is... More

Short's is a must stop if you're in the area. For starters, the atmosphere is great. Gorgeous natural decor, with high ceilings and tons of natural light. You can sit at your own table, the bar, or share a high table with others. The beer is great! Well made!!! We chose to do flights to try a bunch of different... More

I've only recently discovered that I like some beers; our first visit to Shorts a couple of years ago are the reason why. The food is good, too, and they venture out a bit from the traditional bar food with some interesting flavors and ingredients.

I am a Shorts guy. Between the downstate breweries who focus on things like all IPAs, or all sours, or all crap beers, Shorts has everything. The food is constantly improving and the entertainment they bring in is the best in Northern Michigan. Huma Lupa Licious is the best IPA in the land and I love trying their crazy concoctions.

My wife and I decided to head to Short's for a Fathers Day meal as part of our drive through the country side. I was familiar with some of the Short's beers and had heard the food was good. In our case I heard wrong. The pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and blue cheese had way to much blue cheese.... More

My wife and I stopped on Fathers Day for a meal. I had always heard they had good food and we wanted to give them a try. I must have a different version of good meal. While the food was not bad it was nothing special. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with blu-cheese. The blu-cheese overpowered the flavor... More

The only thing this place is good for is getting people drunk. The food is absolutely terrible, the wait staff is bad and the management is horrible. With no one in the place, we had come to wait what seemed to be an hour for a pizza that was inedible. Management refused to replace the bad pizza.
