Dinner with a friend

I frequent this restaurant probably about two to five times a year at most. The food is English pub style food with some American as well. There is a nice but limited menu with some non bar food type items offered. I have enjoyed my meals here when I have had a meal but as it is a bar some... read more

Arrived last week around 1 from other side of State to meet with a couple dear friends from Chicago for food, drinks and socialization. Initially took inside booth, enjoyed house lager, and, an excellent tray of bar food. Service was quick and friendly. Laughed a bit that only options on TV were Arm Wrestling and Cage Fighting. Soon, we moved... More

We have eaten here a few times for breakfast and it is very good, especially the breakfast hash. Cute little place with an Irish pub theme. Only negative mention is the modern juke box. We had to listen to non stop heavy metal and rap in an Irish pub during breakfast because the other party paid for a bunch of... More

Ok for families with kids. Decent food and full bar. Gets loud and crowded though. Been a few times and always had good service and food.

After biking the trails around Battle Creek, we stopped for lunch at the Griffin Grill and Pub. We were with a group of 12. Some got sandwiches, some soup and some salads. My husband got the sweet potato fries which were fabulous. Even though it was not on menu, the chef made a portabella mushroom salad with lots of vegis... More

We had the Mac & Cheese, Philly Cheese & chicken strips. The strips were average but the rest was great. The Mac and cheese is delicious as was the Philly. The atmosphere was fun, staff vary courteous. The place was hopping but we didn't have to wait long. Will go back.

I am pleasantly surprised each time that I go here. Food always is tasty and portions are decent. Not large, but that's okay as I don't need the inducement to overeat. It's adjacent to a lot of what is downtown Battle Creek. Have been a few times with work colleagues and everyone always seems pleased with their meals (and we've... More

Look at that name--grill and pub. Sounds like a bar that serves food. They aren't pretending to be a microbrewery or a fancy eating place. They do what they set out to do--they have darn good bar food at darn good prices. And unlike many microbreweries, they have a darn good selection of beers--maybe the best in town. Great atmosphere.... More

The Griffin was kind enough to reserve a table for a party of 15 for me on St. Patrick's Day, one of their busiest days of the year. It was so nice to be able to walk in and have an area for our large group. We had a blast and enjoyed their food, including St. Patrick's Day specials. Was... More
