Interesting Restaurant

Has an extensive menu--probably the largest menu booklet that you will ever see. May take a long time to get through all of the pages and make a decision on a choice. Is a historic place in an old train station. Food is usually very good.

I met with a music ministry group here back in May and absolutely loved the atmosphere at Clara's. The choices on the menu are endless and it's hard to choose what to get. I went with the blackened shrimp salad which was quite tasty. The homemade rolls made at Clara's are fabulous and addicting. Clara's on the River is definitely... More

spent a girl's weekend at the casino in Battle Creek. For a night out decided to venture into downtown (probably 15 minute drive). Read about Clara's on Trip Advisor and it sounded unique. An old train station from 1888 - very unique with lots of memorabilia throughout. It was a beautiful evening so we chose to eat on the patio.... More

We joined a group of relatives here for dinner during a recent trip to the Midwest. The location is unique and interesting; a 1888 railroad depot built to service the US Army training center and Kellogg's transportation needs. Some very interesting memorabilia and architecture preserved throughout the facility. This is probably a great place for large group gatherings; there were... More

We recently ate here while in town for a baseball tournament. With the name, I expected a nice little area to eat outside with a view of the river. Not exactly- it has a large patio, and while they may technically on the river, it is set back a ways so you can't actually see the river when you eat... More

Never had a bad meal or service. ..even when the place is packed. Polite friendly and attentive service. Good menu with a few things to set it apart from others. Been here for supper as well and have no complaints.

I had never head of Clara's, but apparently it's a Battle Creek landmark. We went for my daughter's 5th birthday dinner on a rainy Monday evening. Food was average. Price was very reasonable. Service was SLOOOOW! They only had one server in our area (maybe 6-8 tables), and he was also tending bar. I do give him credit for making... More

Good food and good service. The food is mid priced and well worth the money. Go for a girl's night out or a dinner date; you will love it just the same.

Wonderful setting and food. Nice staff and setting along the river with live music. Capped off a romantic evening with no disappointment

The restaurant has pretty good food. My husband got a fajita and I got a cheeseburger. The fajita was good but the salsa was a bit too sweet. The cheeseburger was tasty. I got the "Clara's Chips" as my side. Well the chips are more like potato circles. There is no way they can be "chips". They were not bad... More
