This is a Cape Cod institution...located in an old apothecary and hosted by a member of the history Hallet family...it is a must stop on 6A! Don't forget to ask for The Bear. You won't be sorry you asked...

I had the rum raisin ice cream and my husband the strawberry and both were creamy and delicious. The owner was there and it was lovely to talk with him about the history of his shop. We also bought a can of their "famous" clam chowder to take back home with us. A lovely place to stop and delicious homemade... More

What a great throw back store and the homemade ice cream is killer!! They have old style soda and sundae's too. We need to go back and explore the menu more!

Hallet's has such an historic, charming building, but every time we go, even in high tourist season, it's deserted and kind of forlorn. I'd hate to see an old local landmark close, but have to say that on this recent visit, the ice cream didn't seem very fresh or flavorful. And I don't understand why ANY eatery is legally permitted... More

On Saturday, July 12 at 3:45 p.m. my husband and I entered the store and the girl behind the counter was busy, but she completely ignored us for a full five minutes. No hello, no 'be right with you...' no acknowledgment at all until I asked her to verify that restrooms aren't available to customers. We walked out. Potential patrons... More

Staying in a local B&B, we decided to eat in our room so called in at Hallet's store. We left with a very delicious sandwich of minced ham and cheese. The young assistant was very pleasant and was very patient while we looked at the menu. It is a quaint type of store, with plenty of items from the past... More

Pancakes are swoon-able. Quality food, prepared with great care & attention. Set in an authentic Victorian-era apothocary/soda shoppe, this is a wonderful place to visit.

This place states that it was established 1888 (or close to that) and it shows. They might have done a renovation in 1940 or so. That's all fine - offers a quaint "Cape" historical feeling. We thought we would take a walk and get an ice cream and were grossed out. The ice cream was priced average to high but... More

Hallet's is a great place to stop by for ice cream or a sandwich while on your way to or coming from enjoying many of the Cape's activities. It also has great postcards that are better than the more touristy ones you find in the gift shops. It offers a good selection of sandwiches to choose from. We usually get... More
