Good Solid Meal in Historic Home on 6A

Good breakfast. Cheddar cheese, mushroom and spinach omelet was excellent. Great sharp cheddar cheese and fresh veggies. Homefries were better than usual and had rosemary on them. Crepes were very good and fresh with light dusting of powder sugar. Sausage egg and cheese sandwich was fair only. One... read more

The food was average and little things needed attention. It was not crowded so that's not an excuse. For example, the maple syrup pitcher was stuck to the plate and syrup was running down the sides. The waiter was efficient but not friendly. There was just something missing in the whole experience. This was not my first visit to The... More

Went to the Optimist for lunch the other day for the first time with my husband, and was pleasantly surprised. It was recommended to me by a friend. The atmosphere was cosy, our waitress, Emma, was a doll, and the food was great (I had the Ruben sandwich with fries, and would highly recommend it!). Looking forward to going back... More

We stopped here enroute to the Cape Cod National Seashore and had the soup and sandwich special for a late lunch. The portions were very generous and the food was excellent. We were very glad we had stopped here!

My family has been going to the Optimist Cafe since it opened. We have never missed having at least one breakfast there while vacationing at the Cape. The food is delicious and everyone there is friendly. You may have to wait for a table, but it is worth it.

Had breakfast with family - very busy on Saturday am but worth the wait! Waiter forgot about us during the rush so to make up for it he brought free fruit & muffins for us & did not charge us for any of the beverages. Unique food combinations - wonderful breakfast treats - the corn beef hash did not appear... More

As I live nearby, I occasionally visit the Optimist Cafe for lunch. Today was the first time I've gone during the busy Cape Cod summer season, and it'll be the last. While service and food were good, the bare tables and wooden floors, high ceilings, and curtainless windows make for a very noisy dining experience. We were seated next to... More

We live close by and should be regular patrons, but for some reason, we hadn't been there for a while, so we decided to go there for lunch. As soon as we were seated, we recalled why we had not been back; the noise level in the dining room is incredible. The floors are wood, the chairs are not upholstered,... More

The other day I came to Optimist Cafe to grab a late brunch. I came alone as I usually do to sample one of the many breakfast spots on Cape Cod. I enjoy seeing and eating the different flavors and variations of many different plates. This particular time, I ordered the Cape Cod Omelette from my server James. The restaurant... More

My mother and I went here for lunch. It took nearly ten minutes before someone seated us. Once seated, the waiter, who was extrememly nice, was very prompt in ordering our lunch. I do not know what happened between our order at the table and the kitchen. We waited 50 minutes for a salad and fish tacos. We finally had... More
