Good food, but a bit slow.

Had lunch here mid-week. Attentive waitress, but slow kitchen. Good Reuben, excellent curried chicken. The chicken salad was hearty, with just enough mayo to hold it together. Had a butter cake for dessert -- good, but not the "dessert to die for" , as described. Overall, I'd try it again. In... read more

We both had the Lobster Benedict. We shared an order of crepes. We wanted berry crepes--something more traditional than the apple crepes. They were happy to oblige even though it wasn't on the menu. Although the crepes had more of a blintz flavor with cream filling, they were tastey. Dining areas were bright and cheery with original art displayed on... More

It's okay; nothing special and overpriced. The corned beef and eggs special was in fact, canned corned beef that you buy in the supermarket. If you want home fries it's an extra $2.50 and they were not well cooked as I like them. Coffee is $3.00. My salmon Benedict was okay, but muffin was not fully toasted. However, a major... More

This charming spot is the place I head for breakfast celebrations, meetings, or assignations (yes, I'm a writer, look up that word, and guess which type of assignation I mean). . .It is located in Yarmouthport on historic Route 6A which is always a pleasure to drive down if you follow the speed limit and take in all the captain's... Even though I am always surprised at the high prices I continue to return to the Café because it is a bit different from surrounding restaurants. Typically we have a late breakfast on a Sunday (well after 1 pm) so it is nice to have a place that still serves eggs. Today I had the veggie benedict which is almost... More

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the nearby Edward Gorey House. The cafe is in an old home and it is attractively decorated and well cared for. Overall, it has a very nice atmosphere. They had a good selection of lunch items. My wife and I were meeting friends for dinner so we didn't want to have too much.... More

The food was very good & the service was friendly and attentive. The Lobster quesadilla was yummy! The french dip was tasty, too. They serve breakfast all day & that selection looked great!

We stopped in for breakfast around 11am. The coffee was good and there are many choices on the menu. It was hard to choose! We all thought the food was great. We will be back.

I live in Yarmouth Port and I am pleased to say that the Optimist is my go-to restaurant in town. Love this little place. Very friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. Go there at least 3 or 4 times a month. Enjoy the patio seating, weather permitting. I recommend this place to all who will listen.
