Favorite Breakfast Place

Love this little place. Very friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. Go there at least 3 or 4 times a month. Enjoy the patio seating, weather permitting. I recommend this place to all who will listen.

attractive interior but unfortunately very loud. When we were there only four tables were occupied but acoustics make noisy to the point that you can hear every conversation. Menu was creative. In fact one of the best breakfast menus I have seen on the cape. Even a gluten free menu. Coffee was great but at three dollars with an undersized... More

The restaurant is picturesque and a very nice place for breakfast or lunch. In previous visits I sat inside for breakfast; this time I sat outside for lunch. The breakfast experience was far superior to lunch because of menu selection. Breakfast items are well-prepared and home cooked. Lunch salads were not that impressive. Go for breakfast!

The breakfast, brunch, lunch menu is full of unique and interesting possibilities. Try the fritatta on the menu as well as the fritatta of the day. And the omelettes? Lobster and tomatoes and cheese oh my! Even the toast was exceptional, hot and crisp and dripping with butter. Do not miss this great spot on 6A while you are touring,... More

This was a super surprise. It has a whimsical garden and the inside is like coming home for a good meal. I love tea and the service is in individual pots with matching cups. I enjoyed some of the best pancakes and sausage I have ever ordered. The service was very efficient and the decor was enhanced by the original... More

I find it difficult to find a bad breakfast but unfortunately that was what we had at the Optimist last weekend. Cold home-fries and overcooked scrambled eggs made for a disappointing meal. Even the coffee was awful, it tasted reheated. Too bad because the restaurant itself is adorable and the waitstaff very friendly.

One Of The Best Breakfasts I have ever had. I got Pancakes. they were light thin and fluffy. I did nto have to chew. They actually melted in my mouth. I got bacon with it. Two pieces very very wide pieces. Dont to perfection. I also got Tea. They put it in a big ceramic pot. It was English Breakfast.... More

We went here for lunch before checking into our neaby Inn. I had high expecations but the service was a bit spotty and we were put in a side 'bar' room that was cold. My husband had a club sandwich that was yummy, but the fries came out when he was almost done eating his sandwich. I had a half... More

On a Saturday afternoon, mom wanted to take me out to lunch and suggested this cafe since she hadn't been in a few years. I had not been here since it was called the Aardvark years ago, and the Ginger Bread House before that. We arrived about 1:30 and went right in, being too cool to enjoy the out door... More

I went to the Optimist Cafe because it sounded a little different and boasted gluten-free options in their ads. The restaurant is very cute, tastefully decorated and clean. I don't eat much dairy as well as being gluten free, so my options were a little more limited, but I wasn't that hungry anyway. I opted for a gf English muffin... More
