Great Food, OK atmosphere

I tried out the Urban this past weekend for the first time. I was a little hesitant because the reviews seemed mixed but we really wanted seafood. The food did not disappoint. I got the swordfish (cooked perfectly) and my husband got the fish and chips (so good!). The prices are a bit high but... read more

I had a beet and green strawberry salad that was very unusual and very good. Then the duck breast, and finally the chocolate wanna cotta. Both quite good. Also tried a local IPA and a class of pinot noir. Thought the IPA was just okay, and pinot was a little odd, not really a good match with the duck, though... More

Three of us had, Poached Halibut with shiitake mushrooms and a side of Spinach & Garlic, quite good but I think I would prefer sautéed or baked fish. The Spinach was excellent. Another had Seared Sea Bass with sunchoke puree,Trumpet mushrooms, mizuna, black garlic, absolutely wonderful. Also the Clam Chowder with manila clams was excellent. Another had Arctic Char, good but... More

We arrived expecting to find Coral Seafood (which I dined at a few times) and it wasn't obvious the place changed style until we sat down and read the menu. (Was told it changed in January) Upon looking at the sign outside when exiting, they put a temporary sign over the old Coral Seafood sign that you can't see if... More

As many locals know, this is the former "Coral Seafood", same space, same owners, different name and menu. I'm not sure if your restaurant was successful to begin with why you would change the name/concept/menu, but there you have it. We decided to try it during Worcester Restaurant Week (last week). The space is big and bizarre (it used to... More

I was glad to indulge when I noticed The Urban was part of Worcester's restaurant week. I had their clam chowder, arctic char over lentils and carrot cake desert. All of my meal was delectable although the arctic char was particularly noteworthy. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the drinks were also well made. The waitstaff was very cordial and... We expected to eat seafood, only to find that Coral Seafood has morphed into the The Urban Worcester. The menu is completely new, and it was ironic that they didn't have the halibut and the sea bass that were on the menu. We had the duck and the gnocchi, both of which were excellent. But it was difficult to evaluate... More

I went to a retirement dinner at Coral Seafood restaurant on Shrewsbury St in Worcester, MA on December 12, 2014. The function room was nice, a bit cold but OK. The food, however, was just plain nasty. Many of us had the salmon ( remember, this is a seafood restaurant) and it was awful. I can get far superior salmon... More

Wanted seafood for lunch and chose the right place. Three of us had the fresh haddock sandwich with fries and slaw. Haddock was absolutely fabulous and reasonably priced. Surprisingly, our waiter told us the lunch came with soup. We all chose a cup of the seafood gumbo. Very nicely seasoned and loaded with seafood. The dining room is spacious and... More
