On a recent voyage to Cape Cod, my mother and I took a side trip to Wood's Hole. Looking for a spot to eat, we examined the menu of Captain Kidd and found some choices that sounded appealing enough to take a chance. After being led to a dockside seat with boats surrounding us, we placed our order with a... More

We visit every year and are always remembered - and welcomed- by the wonderful manager. This personal touch, for us, really adds to the atmosphere. I'm embarrassed to say I don't know the name of this kind man, but he is a treasure. This year we were pleasantly surprised by the renovations, looks great! The menu has a nice mix... More

Went there after the Falmouth Road Race. The lobster panzella was absolutely delicious. Big chunks of lobster, fresh tomatoes, croutons and shaved Parmesan cheese with just the right amount of dressing. I would highly recommend this salad.

The Kidd is a Woods Hole classic, both restaurant and bar. The restaurant is reasonable priced by Woods Hole standards and the food is better than most other restaurants in the area. Not fantastic, but usually very good. The staff are not polished, but are generally young and enthusiastic. Not 'fine dining', but fun and friendly. You can also sit... More

We had mussels and calamari with draft cider, great food in a lovely spot overlooking the water. Although the restaurant was super busy, they accomodated us with a spot in the `salon' overlooking the water. We had a really nice dinner and will definitely be coming back, this was the best meal we had while Woods Hole, don't quite understand... More

Have gone here for 20+ years. One of the most picturesque spots , eating on the dock. Restaurant had a redo. The food is substandard at best. The service is appallingly unprofessional and slow. Ate there on 8/11. Waiter's approach to table... "What can I grab for you?". Cocktails served after appetizer . Root vegetable salad consisted of French fry... More

We're a family of 5 from The Netherlands. Portions in the USA tend to be too big and too fatty. This place was perfect. Delicious calamari to share, fine lobster all natural with mussels and potatoes with separate butter if needed. Nice tuna steak, lobster salad and ravioli. Fish and chips was good as well. All good value for money.... More

This local favorite on the water in Woods Hole serves good food year round. Four of us ate here for dinner. I had fish and chips which were done well, crispy coating on tender fish and excellent hand cut french fries. The cole slaw was very good. The portion was disappointing. I would have gotten two fillets of that size... More

We go to The Kidd once or twice each time we are in Woods Hole. On the plus side, the atmosphere that of a waterside pub/sports bar. It's informal and family friendly. (There's often a sports game on TVin the bar area.) The seating area in the back is literally on Eel Pond, with pleasant views of the water and... More

I have eaten here for the past 20 years. This is probably the last time. Portions were very small, the fish and chips was overcooked and dried out. We sat on wooden kegs. Way too small and very uncomfortable. We couldn't wait to leave.
