Pricey but good food

We ate here last week after visiting the aquarium. Good food, great cuban sandwich, clam chowder very good, and great little necks. The lobster bisque however was very salty and I could not finish it. Service was slow, but would try again.

This restaurant on the inner harbor in Wood's Hole has done a nice job extending out on to the wharf. The food is fine/OK. The service is very sketchy in quality although everybody means well. As long as you're not critical of such things you'll have a nice time outside on a balmy evening.

The location is fabulous and the wait staff good by and large, but what used to be a local hang out with great burgers, soups, hors d'ouvres to accompany the view, simply is no more. The upgrade to striped cloth seats, refurbished wall mural and superb old bar makes them appear upscale Long Island. The food is below grade but... More

The best thing about the restaurant is the view. There is a large inside and outside seating area including a rather intimate dockside set of seats. We were there for lunch. The food while varied was purely standard fair. I had the cod sandwich for lunch which was slightly smaller than expected and rather bland, even with the accompanying tartar... More

Disappointing. Our first night in town, the large sign and presence caught our eye so we decided to give it a try. We noticed a waterside patio out back, so asked if we could sit there, and were told there were no tables available. As we were being seated, I noticed two tables outside being bussed. So I asked why... More

Had dinner last week at Captain Kidd. 4 of us - and a baby. They put us in a great spot. Inside but with a great view of the harbor - lots of large open windows so you still feel outside. appetizers of steamers, clam chowder and lobster bisque ordered. Steamers were awesome - served really cute in a tin... More

It doesn't get much better than a wonderful meal eaten on the little pier outside this Woods Hole restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is warm, wood-paneled, and great in the winter. For the summer, come early enough to get table on the deck overlooking the marina or or the pier that extends out into it. Gorgeous sailboats, cheerful squadrons... More

When we arrived for dinner, we were told there would be a wait. We went to wait at the larger of the two bars. It took forever to get a bartender, and when he did come, he was brusque and unfriendly. I ordered lemonade, which for reference, is pink and comes out of the soda machine (as in, not homemade).... More

Over the past 7 years and five trips to Falmouth - I've been to Kidd's 5 times. This one was ALL WRONG. When we arrived - we were told we needed to wait anout 20 minutes because the kitchen was behind. No problem, except that the place was about 40% seated.... So I went to the bathroom....and the floor was... More

We had the roasted corn and lobster bisque. It was so, so. Then the pork and lobster dumplings. Oh my god! If I had access to these every day, I'd be big as a house. They are nothing short of amazing. Then she had the lazy man's lobster. It was shredded lobster in a creme sauce with crushed Ritz crackers... More
