We stopped in for breakfast and admired this local deli. My wife had an excellent omlette. I had a breakfast sandwich. There is no bathroom in the restaurant, and the one I was directed to was locked on a Sunday morning. The owner seemed very nice.

Pappa Charlie's has been through many owners, but the recipes and quality has happily been maintained in this unique deli and breakfast place. Check out the wall of fame with sandwiches named, created and inspired by many celebrities who have appeared at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, from the late Christopher Reeve to Blythe Danner and her, daughter, Gwyneth Paltrow. The place is just to popular with very minimal seating. It was a long wait to place the order, a long wait to get the food, and (because it was cold out) there was no place to sit and eat the food.

Slightly overpriced, but the sandwiches are good. Go a little early or a little late for lunch. The staff is not very efficient during rush time.

There are so many different sandwiches to choose from. The combinations are original and are named for characters and people. We especially enjoy thge "SLUGGO". Salads and soups, chips, drinks and cookies are also available.

Stoped by for breakfast and I have to say that I cannot remember the last time I was this disappointed in a meal. How hard is it to do a halfway decent job on a breakfast sandwich. I ordered egg and cheese on a roll. The eggs were burned and the roll was the type you can buy in the... More

Papa Charlie's has become an institution on Spring Street; it's not glitzy, just a reliable spot to grab a quick lunch. The sandwich menu is so extensive it takes a lot of time to make a choice (unless you are a regular) but they are all good. They also have good soups, salads, chili, etc. One drawback is that you... I was impressed with the delicious food and thoughtful attention to those with food allergies. A great place for lunch.

I wish there was a 3.5 rating because Pappa Charlie's is better than average but not quite what I'd call very good. What we liked was the busy collegiate atmosphere, the accommodating staff, the playful celebrity sandwich board, the many vegetarian offerings, and the prices. The food missed the mark a little but I wouldn't rule out going again and... More
