Description: Gala Steakhouse and Bistro is warm & inviting restaurant located inside The Orchards Hotel in lovely Williamstown Massachusetts in the heart of The Berkshires. With it’s not often found blend of classic and contemporary cuisine Gala offers something for everyone. Since becoming Gala in 2006 the restaurant has been reinvented to provide an experience not easily rivaled. Gala boasts an elegant dining room with breathtaking views of it’s adjacent courtyard. The menu, created by Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier, satisfies both the casual and formal diner by offering dishes such as Coq au Vin and Lobster Mac & Cheese in the winter season and Softshell Crab and Grilled Swordfish in the summer.

Whether dining formally in the restaurant or informally in the pub, a diner can't go wrong. We especially enjoy the more informal atmosphere of the pub, but the quality of the food is just about as good as it gets. The menu offers a wide range of enticing items served appealingly on the plate. A fine selection of beers and... More

It doesn't matter what season we visit GALA, we are always welcomed with friendly waitstaff and scrumptious meals. The menu changes often enough so when we do go back, there is always something new and inviting on the menu. It's worth the extra few dollars to enjoy a meal that includes locally grown produce and food.

Great place for a leisurely breakfast even if you are not staying there. Dinners are good but pricey. Do not eat at the bar, the service can be very slow for dining.

No problem with service, our waitress was attentive and we did not wait for anything. Meal was delicious and prices reasonable. If you are staying at the Orchard Hill just eat here, no need to go out. We got the Couples package which gave us dinner for two , breakfast for two plus a cheeseboard and wine on arrival. Great... My husband and I visited Gala for our 15th anniversary. The food and service were amazing. I had a delicious filet, and the antipasto sampler was incredible. Our waiter (Sasha) was engaging and very attentive. The only downside was that the restaurant was almost empty at 8 p.m. on a Saturday. That felt a little weird. I hope that the... More

My friend brought me there for a birthday celebration and it was a terrible disappointment. We waited at least 10 minutes to be seated and probably another 10 before we ordered. Then we waited almost an hour before we received our food. The people next to us had ordered about 5 minutes before us and they were receiving their bill... More

We came here for breakfast after staying the night at the Orchard hotel. The service was very good and the coffee delicious. However we were seated by the window to the courtyard and noticed a lot of dust on the window sill. We aren't terribly picky but it was enough to notice the place was not cleaned often. Otherwise the... More

I brought 12 friends to Gala last weekend for an important birthday celebration. Everything from the ambiance, bartender (Aiden), waiters (Sasha in the lead), food and wine was perfect. I highly recommend Gala to locals and visitors. Please go and support this fine restaurant and amazing staff.

We went with friends pre-theater on the recommendation of others. The service was very inattentive; the waitress seemed not to know the menu, and once she took the order, was rarely seen again. Even when we tried to find someone to get her, there seemed to be no servers around. It was not a busy night; on a Thursday evening... More

Friends and I have been to the Gala Bistro twice in the past month for lunch. We had the same server who was friendly but on the first visit forgot to give us water and our entrees took a long time to be served. However, the food was good, especially the grilled salmon. On our second visit the server was... More
