Description: Gala Steakhouse and Bistro is warm & inviting restaurant located inside The Orchards Hotel in lovely Williamstown Massachusetts in the heart of The Berkshires. With it’s not often found blend of classic and contemporary cuisine Gala offers something for everyone. Since becoming Gala in 2006 the restaurant has been reinvented to provide an experience not easily rivaled. Gala boasts an elegant dining room with breathtaking views of it’s adjacent courtyard. The menu, created by Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier, satisfies both the casual and formal diner by offering dishes such as Coq au Vin and Lobster Mac & Cheese in the winter season and Softshell Crab and Grilled Swordfish in the summer.

Our server Liz was very attentive. We both had the fish & chips (ate in the lounge with the fireplace roaring) and both agreed it was some of the BEST we have had. Fish was cooked well, lightly battered, fries cooked well also. If not so far from home, it would be a regular stop!

I went in on a quiet Sunday night and sat at the bar. The bartender, Liz, suggested the smoked wings and boy was she right! Definitely the best non buffalo wings I've ever had. I also had a strip steak cooked perfectly. The service was amazing Liz was very knowledgable about the food and the area as well. (Plus very... More

Gala is the perfect combination of fun and fancy. We have dined here a number of times at different times of the year and have NEVER been disappointed with the service or the food. We are always made to feel like we are the most important guests they have ever served. We have met the Chef on a number of... More

The food was delicious as well as the presentation. The only thing that out matched the food was the very attentive service. Even my 5yr old date was impressed with the food and the welcoming wait staff.

While staying at The Orchards this weekend, my family and I had 2 dining experiences at Gala. During dinner we sat in the dining room. The service was just fair. We waited a long time for our bread to arrive. They didn't have my first choice, Coq au Van, so I ordered a steak. The Japanese Purple Rice was very... More

My wife and I have been vacationing in the Berkshires since the late 90's. Last night we tried Gala on the advice of local friends. The food is excellent. The is staff friendly, and they are knowledgable of the local ingredients used in their dishes. The fact that the food served is cultivated locally only adds to the unique charm... More

As innkeepers, we continually peruse eateries in a 20 miles radius of our property in an attempt to better inform our guests. Over the years, Gala has maintained if not exceeded expectations. Celebrating an early Valentine's Day dinner, we sat at the bar where Gregory the bartender offered not only wonderful advice on wine, samples but also sizable servings. The... More

We came here during a family ski trip to Jiminy Peak, kids in tow, fresh off the slopes, and searching for some better fare than Hancock had to offer. Wow, did we get lucky! Not only was the food exceptional, the ingredients as fresh as can be, but the service was phenomenal, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere next... More

We spent New Year's Eve at The Orchards & spent our evening at the Gala restaurant with fabulous food & wine. This is our second time staying at The Orchards & dining at the Gala restaurant and I just can't say enough great things about them. Their chef is top notch & absolutely wonderful choices on the menu. Our waiter... More

We are very lucky to have wonderful surroundings and a great atmosphere to offer our guests. We hope you can join us in the summer to experience the courtyard dining outside. It is equally enjoyable! Thank you again! More
