Description: Gala Steakhouse and Bistro is warm & inviting restaurant located inside The Orchards Hotel in lovely Williamstown Massachusetts in the heart of The Berkshires. With it’s not often found blend of classic and contemporary cuisine Gala offers something for everyone. Since becoming Gala in 2006 the restaurant has been reinvented to provide an experience not easily rivaled. Gala boasts an elegant dining room with breathtaking views of it’s adjacent courtyard. The menu, created by Executive Chef Chris Bonnivier, satisfies both the casual and formal diner by offering dishes such as Coq au Vin and Lobster Mac & Cheese in the winter season and Softshell Crab and Grilled Swordfish in the summer.

The general ambiance and old world charm of the hotel. Reception was pleasant and staff ever helpful.

Wednesday night, my wife and I decided to go out, figured we didn't need a reservation for mid-week. Forgot it was leaf-peeper season! We arrive and see that the dining room is reserved for tour groups. Hostess is about to seat us in the lounge (also nice, but we prefer the dining room), when the service captain Sasha comes by... Delicious food at the bar, friendly professional staff, and good food. Really happy to know that there is a restaurant in this hotel for breakfast and a late dinner at the bar after Williams sports. Great recommendation!

My wife and I traveled to Williamstown for a foilage trip from the east and I saw some good reviews on this restaurant. I made reservations throuh open table. We arrived and there were some people in the lounge and 1 couple at a table. Our waitress was very nice offering a sample from the chef. We ordered and the... More

My wife and I eat out almost every day and sometimes twice a day. If this restaurant was in our town at home we would be going here 3-4 times a week. We are staying at a timeshare but decided to go to brunch on Sunday. I had the 3 egg omelet and my wife had salmon on a bagel.... More

called into the gala restaurant for a meal after reading reviews as we were staying in town for the night, we arrived as a coach party were eating alarm bells should have rung then, we were seated in the bar on a bar stool and table. Which was ok as we were hungry, other people were sat at the bar... More

Whether dining formally in the restaurant or informally in the pub, a diner can't go wrong. We especially enjoy the more informal atmosphere of the pub, but the quality of the food is just about as good as it gets. The menu offers a wide range of enticing items served appealingly on the plate. A fine selection of beers and... More

It doesn't matter what season we visit GALA, we are always welcomed with friendly waitstaff and scrumptious meals. The menu changes often enough so when we do go back, there is always something new and inviting on the menu. It's worth the extra few dollars to enjoy a meal that includes locally grown produce and food.

Great place for a leisurely breakfast even if you are not staying there. Dinners are good but pricey. Do not eat at the bar, the service can be very slow for dining.

No problem with service, our waitress was attentive and we did not wait for anything. Meal was delicious and prices reasonable. If you are staying at the Orchard Hill just eat here, no need to go out. We got the Couples package which gave us dinner for two , breakfast for two plus a cheeseboard and wine on arrival. Great...
