I think we may have visited on a particularly busy Tuesday, but we had very long waits for water, menus, food, etc with little attention to our needs. Food was quite good - a little expensive for Indian food but good prices as compared to other restaurants in area. Tends to be loud, with a lot of tables crammed into... More

We were surprised to find decent Indian food in tiny Williamstown. It was a nice change from the expected.

Spice Root is a never fail restaurant. Every time we go to Spice Root, we are warmly welcomed by the owners and staff. The food is excellent and dependable. On Saturday night we enjoyed the lamb chops and the eggplant masala and they were fabulous. Add in some rice, nan and a few martinis and we had a festive, warming... More

1 person found this review helpful Fantastic service, vibrant atmosphere, friendly owners, and exquisite Indian fare. My wife and I live nearby, and frequent Spice Root. We take friends here all the time, and everyone is always very impressed and loves the food and the service. We've never ordered anything we didn't love. I'm craving their spicy lamb vindaloo as... If you are visiting a child at Williams College and want to take him/her to a nearby restaurant for a delicious financed meal, Spice Root would be a good choice. I chose Spice Root based on the positive TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We arrived early for a 6:30 pm reservation and were seated right away at a... More

The staff of Spice Root are friendly and courteous. But what makes me return time after time is the flavor of the dishes. The Lamb Saag & Korma are flavorful and tender. The chicken Tikki Marsala is my favorite. The garlic Naan is not to be missed. Eating at Spice Root is always a fun time. Over the years we... More

Very disappointed. Had not been here in many years. Service very good but chicken dry and poorly plated. Worst of all the veggies (extra charge) were clearly from a bag of frozen mixed vegetables. It was also not inexpensive. Will not be back.

Nice atmosphere and service but the quality of the food is what distinguishes this place. In addition to a range of Indian dishes, many of them vegetarian, there are other Asian cuisines represented. More vegetables available than in many Indian restaurants in North America.
