I usually am not a big fan of Indian food (too spicy!), but the limited choices in W'town convinced me to peruse the menu. Seemed to have some unique preparations in addition to the usual fare, so we gave it a try. Didn't disappoint. Will return on our next visit to the area

I love that they don't hold back on the flavors at this restaurant. And if you ask for hot, expect HOT. I like the Jalfreezi and my daughter's a fan of the tikka masala and korma. The garlic-cilantro naan is also a hit. Great atmosphere and love the non-stop Bollywood on the bar t.v.

Our motel owners recommended Spice Root after we asked if there was an Indian place in Williamstown and we were directed to the restaurant, where we were greeted very well and given a discount when we showed our room key. Ok, so that's good, but its all about the food. Our main courses were lamb Korma and chicken Jalfrezzi. Both... More

Just bad. Overpriced, poor food, definitely not authentic in any way. Avoid if you've ever had even decent Indian buffet food.

I enjoyed the variety of Indian cuisine offered in their lunch buffet. You can go back for seconds. Food was good but one item on a heating tray was just warm (I think a hotter temperature would make that chicken dish tastier) They offer a small discount if you are staying at a local hotel. Very welcoming for this parent.... More

After visiting Williams College decided to have dinner before heading back home to Boston. Wow! It was one of the worst Indian restaurant we've been to. Before ordering the waiter placed stale crackers on the table with watery ketchup for dipping. Ordered chicken tikka masala and dal. The chicken tika masala sauce again tasted like ketchup with no flavor. Dal... More

I have been to this restaurant several times, and each time the buffet is up to the same high quality and standard as it was on my previous visit. There is variety and the food is delicious, especially the chicken curries.

We have usually ordered off the menu and been totally pleased with the results. It has been several years and we had ususally been there for dinner. Our waiter encouraged the buffet on this mid week lunch visit. We reluctantly agreed, but were very satisfied and impressed with the freshness and healthy options available expecially since it was almost 2PM... More

If you like Indian food and spice stop here for a lunch or a brunch. Aldought it has both a buffet and a menu, buffet is better choice. Ussualy there is 5-6 main dishes, 2-3 salads and 2-3 kind of desserts. Beverades are not included. Very clean, taste good and servis is OK.

While other restaurants can take a lesson from Spice Root for service and courtesy, the food didn't move me. There were four of us for dinner and we each ordered something different with the aim of sharing. Well, three of those dishes arrived Exactly the Same. So much for variety. The appetizers were fun, but the main dish was disappointing.
