With all the great reviews on Trip Advisor, I was expecting to encounter a wow factor with at least one thing on the menu but it didn't happen. For appetizers, the Samosas were very good and the Ragara Patties were something pleasantly different from foods I've come across at other Indian restaurants. The Garlic and Cilantro Naan coupled with the... More

Nice place for a relaxed dinner, friendly service, good chana saag and tandoori chicken. The dining room was filled with happy people engrossed in conversation and in no rush to leave.

Spice Root is the best Indian Food around. Admittedly, there aren't may Indian food restaurants in Vermont. We travel to Middlebury, Burlington and Williamstown MA when we want good Indian food (and we've been known to go as far as Montreal). Spice Root is the best around, and competes with those in larger cities. Everything is excellent, but no matter... More

This is the best Indian food I have had in a long time that wasn't home cooked! The spices are fantastic and the service is great!

This is a wonderful Indian restaurant in Williamstown, MA. It's a beautiful area in the Berkshire Hills. Spice Root has a lovely ambience and a fine reputation. Whenever I go there, my choice is the Chicken Mango. It has just the right mixture of spices and tender chicken to make me happy! And it is very consistent. Service is always... More

Visited for the lunch buffet Thursday February 19th, and I am a person who really appreciates a middle eastern buffet. For example, I often go to The Curry House on Madison Avenue in Albany New York. Although the Spice Root restaurant was physically quite a bit larger than the Curry house, it's buffet table was not even 1/2 as large.... More

We recently spent 3 nights in Williamstown, a return visit. We had dinner at Spice Root because we enjoyed it so much the last time we visited Williamstown. The food was as good as I remembered and the staff very friendly.

I had Ragara Patties as a starter, lightly spiced with Tamarind, as a Main I had the aloo baingan, good flavours of coriander coming through. I shared a malai kofta, this was a lovely rich almond sauce, the vegetable dumplings were flavoursome but could have been lighter. I tried the bullet naan, and whilst I was disappointed that it lacked... More
