FINE FOOD, CONVENIENT LOCATION

An excellent choice in W-town. Very close to the Clark. A bit of a climb up the steps from the parking lot, but the menu, the service, the taste is worth it. Reservations a good idea.

We couldn't find fireworks, so we decided to have a splurge dinner 4th of July, and we were thrilled by the meal at Mezze. At first I thought the staff was a bit snobbish, but we were in a good mood and chocked it up to New England's taciturn reputation (we are from Texas). I decided to try things I'd... More

Although the taste of the food was spectacular, what really blew me away was that the presentation was so elegant and simple. The price is a little high for the portions that you get, but this restaurant is perfect for special occasions/splurges. The wait staff is a little slow checking in with tables, but that was the only down side.... More

Visited two nights in a row. Fabulous food with local ingredients - loved it all. Interesting menu with good vegetarian options as well. Beautiful outlook. Attentive waitress.

The good: Interesting menu, with an emphasis on local ingredients Competent list of little-known [and excellent] wines by the glass Good salads Otherwise: - The pork dish was so gristly and tough that it was essentially inedible. To their credit, they did take it off the bill. - Both entrees had far too much salt

This is the third incarnation of Mezze in Williamstown. I have eaten at all three. This latest incarnation is the best. The restaurant has now moved out on Route 7 two or so miles from Williamstown proper. It now sits on a small hill set back from the road. There is an outdoor terrace and ample space between tables in... More

There was never any disputing the quality of the food at Mezze, but many of us chose not to encourage, with our patronage, the too-cool or condescending attitude of some staff members. Steep prices seemed to suggest to some of the workers that they were royalty. But that appears to have changed. Everyone from the hostesses to the bartender (Jane)... More

It's hard not to look at this menu and not want to go there immediately. The ingredients; the provenance of the ingredients, the desire to make real food produced locally without either being hippy-dippy or utterly pretentious, lots of greens and vegetables and meats and pastas, all combined in interesting ways (pig heart cooked rare and served with a big... I gave Mezze a rave in September 2011, and have dined there several times a year since then. It's been through some major transitions, some radical changes in food and staff, and has lately maintained a reasonably high standard in both. The food is fresh and well-prepared and the waitstaff knows how to talk about it -- a good thing,... More

While visiting the Clark and Williams College museums, my wife and I enjoyed two superb meals at Mezze. The service was first-rate, and the knowledgeable servers helped us understand several of the entree and side dish descriptions. The chef incorporates fresh, local ingredients in creative preparations...the heritage pork, fried oyster, and salmon belly mains were excellent. And any of the... More
