Very Good Food

My wife, my daughter, and I went there at the end of March and had a very good meal. The food was of high quality. I know my daughter gave the fried chicken high marks. I had a pasta dish, and it was good, although the pasta was just a shade overcooked. My wife and I had Martinis with top... read more

I've been to Hops & Vines with my family (wife and 5-year-old) and with friends for drinks. It's a great location, very spacious, with excellent service and delicious food. The beer tap list is second to none in Berkshire County. The best part about the restaurant is that it gives you the option of fine dining or just a nice... More

It is difficult to imagine how there could be negative reviews of Hops & Vines. I have been a patron several times and have found everything to be of consistently high standards, whether eating in the Vine or Hops side. From the moment you arrive, H & V's vivacious hostess, Michelle, makes a point to set the tone for an... More

Driving by this appears to be an average simple restaurant. But the interiors are nice and food phenomenal. Staff wasn't as friendly as you'd expect for the high prices, but definitely a unique menu.

If you like raw smelling salmon and hard as a rock baguettes, then this is the place for you! If you like your soup cold with no flavor then you got to go Hopes and Vines...

My family and I found Hops and Vines in Massachusetts. We were very hungry and the restaurant looks very good from the inside and out, however the food is not good at all. The soup had almost no flavor and came out cold. Don't order the salmon sandwich, it is not cooked and smells very fishy. The fries are raw... More

First of all, there just aren't that many restaurants to choose from in Williamstown, so we were just glad to find a nice place for a burger and salad. We sat in the bar side and thought the bowl of popcorn served as a snack was cute. Food was pretty good and I think the chef tries really hard to... More

My friend and I went to Williamstown last summer. Stayed in a B & B for 2 nights, saw a play at Williamstown Theatre Festival, had dinner at Hops & Vines, walked around town, the went to The Clark Art Museum on our way back home to NYC area. Was expecting more from Hops & Vines, to be honest. They... More

We enjoyed coming here and being the pub-like environs. (We sat on the bar side.) Food was fine, only complaint (and most readers won't care) is that it is very vegan-unfriendly. One cannot even get a vegetable that is vegan, they are all done in butter.

The only reason I am giving this a rating of "poor" as opposed to "terrible," is because the atmosphere in the Vines side is warm and gracious -- AND because most of the waitstaff are friendly and professional -- AND because Gordon H. is a terrific bartender. But a restaurant must ultimately succeed or fail on the quality of its... More
