Rack of Lamb like no other!

If you're looking for an experience, head to The Whately Inn! The rack of lamb is twice the size you'll get anywhere else (delicious leftovers the servers gladly wrap up for you)! The decor is kitschy and fun (this type of place would kill it in Brooklyn as a retro restaurant). The drinks are... read more

We arranged to surprise friends at the Inn and it didn't disappoint. Busy but not crowded, service non pariel, a nice pace between appetizers and the main entree. The appetizers were just the right size I had the veal parm which as one of the best I've in years! Fork tender, hot with a red gravy that was a balanced... More

Lived in the area a long time. Never wrote a review but this is the third time I've been back and lobster was bad and they said it was fresh. I know a fresh lobster the worst I ever had. Chewy and bad flavor at least admit or take it off the bill wouldn'nt do either. It has'nt been the... More

Fine, quiet dining. A little history, and a lot of local flavor. Wonder staff. We'll definitely be back.

We arrived 30 minutes early to sample the drinks served in the tavern. We were delighted by the wine list and outstanding customer service. Dinner was served at 5 pm and in 15 minutes all tables were filled. Reservations are a must. The menu is extensive and portions are very large. My wife had a lobster meal and I had... More

This was absolutely one of the best meals we've ever had! Our waitress, Rebecca, was very attentive, friendly, and always there when needed. The food was OUTSTANDING, all the way from the rolls and marinated cold veggies to the appetizers to the entrée and dessert! I've never liked pate, but decided to try it and I have to say, it... Along the way you will notice the fact that the Whately Inn is definitely off the beaten path, not a bad thing at all !. I believe that a rough uncut gem should usually be discovered, rather than be handed to you. When I discovered my gem was probably about 8 years ago when a coworker had recently visited The... More

My fried chicken contained barely any chicken. The NE clam chowder was good, but thin and watery. The staff never returned to see if everything was okay. The bench seats looked like they had been attacked with a large knife and were all split open. The old fashioned milk shake arrived in a quart-sized container that was full. The waitress... More
