Not much has changed--and sometimes that really works for a place.

All I had was a couple, three hours to spend with my pal from so many years back, and she lives in Whately just down the road from the Whately Inn. So we decided to have a walk along the West Brook, meet each others' spouses and dine at the Whately Inn. The menu is old fashioned, practically... read more

We had 530 reservations and we're seated on arrival. Four of us ordered different dishes. Our appetizers and meals were ecellent. The prime rib was cooked the way we ordered it and was very tender. The stuffed lobster was also great .Dinner also included dessert. We had pecan pie and pumpkin cheesecake which was made there. We were able to relax... More

We had friends visiting and decided to dine at the Whately Inn as we had not been in a couple of years. All four of us had different meals and all we're great. I started with the lobster bisque and a salad. For an entrée I had the salmon with lobster sauce, served with asparagus, and potatoes. Warm rolls and... More

The Whately Inn is a fixture in Whately and has a varied and interesting take on Old New England fare with a Louisiana flare. The quality is excellent, service is most enjoyable and occasional new or trial additions to the menu. Reasonably priced. A bit off the beaten path, but well worth dining there.

We visited the Whately Inn a while ago. Service was good, and the food was also good. We had oysters on a half shell which were the highlight. Swordfish entrée also was very good. It's easy to overcook, but mine was cooked spot on. While it was a good meal, nothing really stood out as a wow factor. The salads... More

Best Roast Duckling. We've had a few catastrophic holidays at home due to weather or timing and have always been welcome to eat at the bar when the dining room is booked. Excellent service and friendly owner.

If you're looking for an experience, head to The Whately Inn! The rack of lamb is twice the size you'll get anywhere else (delicious leftovers the servers gladly wrap up for you)! The decor is kitschy and fun (this type of place would kill it in Brooklyn as a retro restaurant). The drinks are generous and delicious. The service is... More

We arranged to surprise friends at the Inn and it didn't disappoint. Busy but not crowded, service non pariel, a nice pace between appetizers and the main entree. The appetizers were just the right size I had the veal parm which as one of the best I've in years! Fork tender, hot with a red gravy that was a balanced... More

Lived in the area a long time. Never wrote a review but this is the third time I've been back and lobster was bad and they said it was fresh. I know a fresh lobster the worst I ever had. Chewy and bad flavor at least admit or take it off the bill wouldn'nt do either. It has'nt been the... More

Fine, quiet dining. A little history, and a lot of local flavor. Wonder staff. We'll definitely be back.
