Quaint new england inn.

We arrived 30 minutes early to sample the drinks served in the tavern. We were delighted by the wine list and outstanding customer service. Dinner was served at 5 pm and in 15 minutes all tables were filled. Reservations are a must. The menu is extensive and portions are very large. My wife had a... read more

This was absolutely one of the best meals we've ever had! Our waitress, Rebecca, was very attentive, friendly, and always there when needed. The food was OUTSTANDING, all the way from the rolls and marinated cold veggies to the appetizers to the entrée and dessert! I've never liked pate, but decided to try it and I have to say, it... Along the way you will notice the fact that the Whately Inn is definitely off the beaten path, not a bad thing at all !. I believe that a rough uncut gem should usually be discovered, rather than be handed to you. When I discovered my gem was probably about 8 years ago when a coworker had recently visited The... More

My fried chicken contained barely any chicken. The NE clam chowder was good, but thin and watery. The staff never returned to see if everything was okay. The bench seats looked like they had been attacked with a large knife and were all split open. The old fashioned milk shake arrived in a quart-sized container that was full. The waitress... More

We first went to the Whately lnn for dinner on New Year's Eve. Since then we have returned twice because we thoroughly enjoyed the experience on all levels. The food is excellent, the service staff efficient and friendly, and the rose that every woman receives at the end of the evening complements the romantic atmosphere that we enjoyed throughout dinner.... 1 st time here in many years outstanding food and service!!! DO NOT BELEIVE THE EXPENSIVE COMMENTS. They include everything except your drink in their price. We started with awesome fresh hot garlic rolls marinated mushrooms a salad dinner and full size dessert and coffee. The prime rib was huge and the flavor was amazing. Dinner for 3 w/ tip... More

Read the mixed reviews before going. Wanted to give it a shot because it's fairly close by. We were seated right away and the server was pleasant. From the onset, it looks like a good deal; The price of the meal includes an appetizer, salad, dinner, and dessert. The appetizer was cold and underwhelming. The salad was fine. The lamb... More

One of my favorite restaurants. The food is always good and prepared to order. The rolls are delicious - but if you eat too many you won't be able to finish your meal. The value is great - meal price includes appetizer and dessert. Decor could use some updating...but it doesn't bother me, because the food is so good. Worth... More

This was my first time dining at the Whately Inn and I enjoyed every minute. The food was outstanding as was the service. We had prime rib and lobster and enjoyed the evening.
