This restaurant is off the beaten path. You can get there by car, bus or taxi, but a taxi is pretty pricey. We started with cauliflower fritters. My husband had a very good fish dish and they made up a lovely vegetarian dish for me. You definitely need a reservation here!

For the price and hype we expected great food. My Swordfish dish was fine, not great but 3 others in my party had the duck and were disappointed. They said it was sliced too thick. I enjoyed the fresh in house grown veggies but overall everyone in our party was underwhelmed with their dinners.

Had a fantastic meal here on our honeymoon. Food was above and beyond along with the service. Thank you Judy! Just sad that we missed Maura that night. Highly recommend the zucchini fritters with harissa yogurt. They brought us a chocolate mousse torte which was fantastic. The dining room is stunning, beautiful chandeliers and a fireplace. The garden entrance with... More

Jackson has had a number of fine dining restaurants on the island, but State Road is truly outstanding. The decor is warm with some incredible artwork from local artists. Even the copper sinks in the bathrooms are unique. I wanted a wrench so I could take one home... As always, the food preparations are delicious. I started with the heirloom... More

I have had dinner here and found it overpriced, loud and a big scene. BUT, the best thing they offer is their pastry bar and coffee in the morning. NYT and a nicer quieter scene. LOVE their pastries...the coffee is best Latte on island. LOVE this place.

The food at State Road is good but portions are unnecessarily huge and the menu over the summer stays pretty much the same except for some daily specials. Lovely surroundings including a beautiful stone fireplace. Just wish the chef would be more adventurous, but they've got a winner and they don't want to mess with it.

This is known as Martha Vineyard's best restaurant by people with summer homes here. The ambiance is lovely with high beamed ceilings and good acoustics. My only criticism is I prefer tablecloths to highly polished wood for hygienic reasons. We had scallops for an appetizer consisting of three large scallops romesco with local pea greens and pine nut olive relish... More

What a great spot! Great atmosphere, their garden is absolutely fantastic. Food is delicious and of great quality. Also president Obama goes here, which is pretty cool. I would recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys quality food.

This place is by far the best on the island hands down. If only have the time or money for one place to eat make sure you get to the State Road Restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the staff is friendly. Can't say enough about their swordfish it is to die for.

Food, wine, service - all as expected!! This restaurant was described to me as a very good place to eat, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I can't comment on the value as I was treated to dinner but I can't believe that it is cheap. The local produce is obviously sourced extremely well and this adds to the freshness... More
