Can't beat German cuisine for winter comfort food!

After attending a show at the Big E fairgrounds recently, my husband and I stopped for dinner at the Hofbrauhaus, which is very nearby. We ate in the more casual bar area, to the left as you enter the front door. It was a cold and blustery Sunday afternoon, and there were only two other patrons... read more

My husband and I went to the Hofbräuhaus for our anniversary. We have a sentimental attachment to the restaurant because we celebrated there on our wedding day ten years ago. The service was very good. The hostess I dealt with to make the reservation and the waiter were very attentive. Although this is a German restaurant, they also claim to... More

Attended the Easter Brunch Buffet last Sunday. We all agreed the food selection was great and very good. Hofbrauhaus is one of my favorite restaurants and did not fail to exceed my expectations. I love the German atmosphere, very cozy. A little on the expensive side but would recommend this restaurant.

Today 16 members of our family dined at the Hofbrauhaus for Easter brunch. The food was good. There was a lot to choose from. The décor is nice to look at. The wait staff was great. I wish I could remember our waiter's name. He was kind and attentive. I would go back there to have dinner some time.

One of my favorite places to unwind after work. Great food (even their limited bar menu has some nice options). The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. Great place!

Lots of authentic Germann meals including game meat. Bes weiner schnitzel around. They serve it with a plum sauce to die for. Their house dressing is the best I've ever had. Of course, there's plenty of choices of German beers and wines. Save some room, though. Wait til you see the dessert cart!

Read the title. Great Bavarian beer selection and attentive waitstaff. The atmosphere is seemingly authentic and the bar area is lively. Now the food....disappointing. If you do choose to eat here the sausages are the way to go. They have multiple entree platters which offer an oversized tasting menu. Mine was hit and miss. The rabbit and lamb shank were... More

Lots of great German beers, spirits and food. The decor takes me back to quaint restaurants in Germany. They serve complimentary cheese and crackers while you have cocktails and await your appetizer. Their deviled eggs are a house specialty. They also make an authentic table side Caesar salad the right way using fresh ingredients and no premade dressing. The food... More

I judge German food by Sauerkraut and IMHO the chef's here make it too sweet. I have researched recipes and sometimes apple sauce is added, and if that was the sweetener, it was way too sweet for my taste. The rest of the meal was fine, promptly served, hot and well presented. We arrived on a weeknight and only one... More

After reading many poor reviews of the Student Prince that recently reopened we decided to try the " other" German restaurant in town. Just over the bridge in West springfield is the Hofbräuhaus. The restaurant was great many years ago and went through ownership changes, hopfully there back. The place is slightly dated but still has a great German feel... More
