This is a casual dining spot with outstanding seafood. I have been a customer of their seafood market since long before the restaurant opened. The fish is right-off-the-boat fresh, and their chowders are as good as or better than Legal Seafood, but without the higher prices. Whether dining-in or getting takeout, we know we will always be completely satisfied. Their... More

Captain Marden's fish market is a wonderful place to find fresh fish. Craving Butter Fish from Blue Ginger restaurant nearby but can't get a reservation? Get the Black Cod. Want the freshest local Stripe Bass or Blue Fish? CM has it. They filet the Spanish Mackerel - a great deal and time saver. You can get their chowders and bisques... More

We stopped in to Capt Marden's on a Sat night after a movie when all the chain restaurants and local non-chains were booked. It was 1/3 filled maybe. But hit had a steady clientele, No booze unless you bring it yourself. The wait staff was friendly and homey. The menu was the fresh fish and seafood. The fish chowder was... More

I usually sit down and have either dinner or lunch at Capt. Marden, but as the traffic was horrendous with the impending snowstorm, I opted to order out at the fish market. We had a lunch of delicious clam chowder (lots of clam inside the chowder) and fresh scallops and cod cooked Japanese style in a hot pot. Delicious! Great... More

When it comes to shrimp cocktail, this is where you need to go. Once you had it, nothing else measures up. All seafood is of the highest quality. Of course this will come at a high price, but you can't go wrong with service and quality.

Food was ok, but waited forever to be seated (5 + baby). Apparently only a few tables can accommodate a child seat.

Not that there are that many choices in MetroWest (that I'm aware of), but if you're in the Wellesley-Wayland-Natick area -- or don't mind driving from Newton or Framingham or other surrounding towns -- this is the best fresh fish you can buy. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Sure, the prices are a bit higher. But if you're looking for quality, it's... More

With the exception of the remarkable Legal's on the water front in Boston which offers an upstairs gourmet restaurant they are a distant second from Captain Marden's in Wellesley. The fish whether at their retail store next to their restaurant or at the restaurant is fresher and cheaper than Legal's. Legal's has a central location where they send out fish... More
