Lunch at the Bar

We arrived on a Saturday around 1pm for lunch. Although there were probably 9 empty tables that we could see, we were told there was a 20 minute wait (due to reservations). 4 of those tables remained open the entire time we were there. One of my pet restaurant peeves! We opted just to sit at... read more

While the food is reasonably good at this restaurant, the noise level is so high that it makes it difficult to enjoy your meal. Avoid if you are over 65.

Hello, We do regret that your experience with us was not exceptional. While we do try our best to ensure a pleasant dining experience with ambient noise this can sometimes be off balance. We do however have a quieter, private dining room where you might find the setting more pleasureable. So long as it is available you are always welcome... More

Went to The Cottage the other night. My meal was plentiful, wine as plentiful, service was very good. Was it 'very' good? Was it 'excellent'? Not really. It's just me but it was just ok. Not special but good for it's location I guess...

The Cottage is a good place to eat for a casual dinner, lunch, or breakfast. The menu has some good options, although I would not recommend the fried calamari--it comes covered in shredded lettuce. In my opinion, their brunch is better than their dinner, especially the french toast. I've never had a particularly bad meal here and the waitstaff is... More

The Cottage has a nice atmosphere. It has very high ceilings and large windows which give a bright and airy feel. The food is good, with prices about what you would expect for a moderately expensive restaurant. The wait staff have always been very pleasant and accommodating. The only complaints I've had were that the restaurant can be a little... More

Right before Christmas, I had lunch with my teenage children at The Cottage. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The menu works for the kids (hamburgers and fries) and for me (great selection of salads and light entrees). I highly recommend The Cottage!

Since we don 't live real close, we don't get over to the Cottage as often as we'd like, but we find it to be reliably good in almost all instances (we do try to dine when it isn't 't too crowded or noisy). For a number of years, they had, hands down, the BEST fish tacos anywhere ( grilled... More

My wife and I were looking for a different restaurant to enjoy. Our son suggested The Cottage. It was just what we were hoping to experience. The food is excellent, and the serving sizes are properly balanced. The pricing is reasonable as is the service.

After visiting Lake Waban at Wellesley College, you will be hungry. I will recommend this restaurant which is located 5 minutes from the college. Place and food are very nice. After lunch you can have a walk into the village stores.

The cottage is well supported by the local Wellesley community and for good cause. The freshness and creativity of their salads and entrees and the enthusiastic professionalism of one or two their waiting staff will have you coming back for more...
