Nice patio for lunch on beautiful day. Food was good. Waitstaff was exceptional. Very comfortable. Would definitely go back again.

When we visited this cavernous space in Watertown, it was busy and really noisy - dinner table conversation has to be conducted in a shout. Not attractive for entertaining a guest at all. The server was lovely - and did her best. The food was OK but the same food in Arlington was plated properly and carefully. This food was... More

I was dithering about what I should have for lunch today. From dunkon to Mac, from Super Fusion to some Itallian restaurant, none of them appealled to me. I was sick of Chinese food in U.S. and certainly wanted a cool and clean place to sit and eat. I searched restaurants on my GPS and decided to try Not Your... More

After searching for a long time for a restaurant that could accommodate our rehearsal dinner group of approx. 30 guests we finally booked at Not Your Average Joe’s in Watertown and it was such a great night. My criteria for the dinner was good, clean food, moderately priced, classy place and open air (either windows or patio- weather accommodating). This... More

Our first time in the area we chose this restaurant randomly from a list of local places. What a great find! We were seated quickly, loved the unique casual atmosphere, our waitress was great and the food was amazing! I chose a Waldorf Salad with Chicken. It was really a different choice to find on a menu and absolutely delicious!... More

I recently took a bike trip to Boston/Watertown, and decided to have lunch at "Not Your Average Joe's" in Watertown MA. The food was awesome, and my waitress was the best. She knew I had just cycled four hours, so she kept my water glass full the entire time. After lunch, as I was on my way out, the manager... More

Atmosphere was good on my night out with my friend. We were seated immediately and the server was knowledgable. Good good and serving sizes were appropriate. Try not to be seated by the front door. We were seated right next to the hostess station and was quite loud. Parking is convenient. I would return again.

Getting Situated: We had an early, after a matinee at the theater dinner, so there was no waiting for a table. We had initially asked for a booth, but when the only booth left was right by the kitchen, we asked to select something else and the hostess very pleasantly told us that we could choose any table we wanted.... Our waitress took our order and was never seen again. Not once were we asked if we need anything, like maybe another drink perhaps? Or maybe a bottle of ketchup? Our how is everything? Nothing!!! I had to stop the host as he walk by for our check. It was brutal! I asked for my steak medium rare and it... More

As someone who must eat gluten free, this was one of the best places I went to on a recent trip to Boston and Vermont. We actually ate there twice in one day (I know, how sad) - but it was that good for lunch and at the end of a tiring day of exploring and getting caught in a... More
