I recently took a bike trip to Boston/Watertown, and decided to have lunch at "Not Your Average Joe's" in Watertown MA. The food was awesome, and my waitress was the best. She knew I had just cycled four hours, so she kept my water glass full the entire time. After lunch, as I was on my way out, the manager... More

Atmosphere was good on my night out with my friend. We were seated immediately and the server was knowledgable. Good good and serving sizes were appropriate. Try not to be seated by the front door. We were seated right next to the hostess station and was quite loud. Parking is convenient. I would return again.

Getting Situated: We had an early, after a matinee at the theater dinner, so there was no waiting for a table. We had initially asked for a booth, but when the only booth left was right by the kitchen, we asked to select something else and the hostess very pleasantly told us that we could choose any table we wanted.... Our waitress took our order and was never seen again. Not once were we asked if we need anything, like maybe another drink perhaps? Or maybe a bottle of ketchup? Our how is everything? Nothing!!! I had to stop the host as he walk by for our check. It was brutal! I asked for my steak medium rare and it... More

As someone who must eat gluten free, this was one of the best places I went to on a recent trip to Boston and Vermont. We actually ate there twice in one day (I know, how sad) - but it was that good for lunch and at the end of a tiring day of exploring and getting caught in a... More

Best fresh food and happening restaurant in the area. I have lived in Allston/Brighton area for 10 years. Know the food scene very well. They are only 10mins from my house in Brighton to Watertown. NYAJ's food is always above average. We usually get buffalo tenders which are amazing with the sauce, a pizza and peanut butter thing desert. Food... More

Good quality food and plenty of it. A little pricy for an older couple, but worth it for a special meal. This may be the original Not Your Average Joe's, which has grown into a small chain, and the authentic 50's decor is fun. The open seating can be a bit noisy. So four out of five stars. Worth the... Good Prices--- for Boston, I should have added. $6.99 for a margarita that was well made and almost double the size of drinks elsewhere. I would rate the food a notch above an Applebee's or similar chains. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was smothered in onion straws and served with fresh-cut French Fries. Sandwich was good. Onions and... More

Happy Hour at the bar has 1/2 price full size appetizers which is a meal. Good drinks, beer selection and comfortable seating. Bartenders are good and overall a relaxing experience.

Family-friendly restaurant with way better than your "typical" bar food. We've been coming here since it first opened, and now my husband and I enjoy a meal at the bar watching a game - that's how long we've been coming. Honestly, I always get the same meal. I can't help it. It's that good. Ahi Tuna appetizer and poached pear... More
