I went out for dinner with my wife to the Halfway Cafe, based on a recent positive review on the Phantom Gourmet. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our Cafe Calamari was one of the best presentations we've had of the popular appetizer, with an excellent admixture of sweet chili sauce, carrots, cashews, cilantro, and green apple with Sriracha aioli.... Not sure what some of these reviewers are talking about! Been a pretty regular customer of Halfway for many years. Yes, this was my go to place for a good burger an fries, and several other good menu items. Not any more! Over the past year or so, menu changed, prices have gone up, size AND quality of the burgers... More

Been in a few times and its always busy, some times too busy to get a seat or even in the bar. Always a friendly atmosphere and the food is basic but tasty and cheap for what you get.

I have been to other locations and this one really exceeded my other experiences. So many vegetarian options I was overwhelmed!

That was an unsolicited quote from my girlfriend midway through the meal, and I agree. So I have been to plenty of locations of this chain ( canton Dedham, Holbrook and others ) this is my first Watertown visit and I am not disappointed. Great food as usual that came out quick. Service was very good, several staff assisted us... More

We watched a Bruin's game here. It a good place to catch a game TV’s in the dining room are always a bonus. This is close to my brothers house and I should have gone with his recommendation. As he had the turkey tips which were quite good. I had the pulled pork but it didn’t have that slow low... More

My husband and I went for dinner last night (Friday), and were overall quite happy with our experience. It was crowded, but not so noisy we couldn't talk, and the TVs didn't dominate the room. The food portions are amazing, and the fries are some of the best we have had. The waitstaff did seemed overwhelmed (and understaffed) as a... More

Great sauces came with the fried pickle app. I had an $8 special -- harvest salad -- and that was really tasty. Lots of fat and fried food so not that healthy but very comforting. Very generous pour on the glass of wine.

The unique newspaper menu was cool and the food & drinks were priced right .... But the service is what really makes this place worth repeat visits.
