We enjoyed this Moody Street standout in Waltham when we visited recently with friends we hadn't seen in decades. Needless to say, we had a lot of story telling to catch up on, and that was the only drawback to this otherwise excellent place -- the noise level was a bit high, both from multiple conversations and from recorded music.... I've been to Solea about 4 different times, and each time the food has been delivered quickly and has been fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is great, although the acoustics can get to be a bit difficult to hear your company. The tables are also fairly small and close together, which can make it difficult to juggle the many plates,... More

The front desk was incredibly accomodating and was able to squeeze us into a window seat on a beautiful day at the last minute. I thought the variety of food was great, the lobster ravioli and artichokes were both amazing. Everything else we ate was good - not over the top spectacular. We tried the scallops and garlic shrimp, both... More

I first visited Solea last year when I was in town with my husband and son for a soccer tournament. We met extended family for tapas after a game, and I have been thinking about it ever since! We were just back in the area for the same soccer tournament and met family there on Sunday night; I was so... More

Meeting up friends, sharing tapas and a few beers is an ideal option. This restaurant is a good choice - busy but not too noisy. Service is fine, though they kept trying whisk the menus away (we wanted to just keep ordering a few plates at a time, as you tend to do in tapas bars!) But the orders were... More

We have eaten here many times, most recently after a movie with our grown son and his wife. This is a dependably fin lace to eat. The variety of the tapas is very good, and the service is fine. the only complaint this time is that the order got a little fouled up -- some stuff came late and some... More

We ate lunch at Solea, and were completely, pleasantly stuffed by sharing 3 plates each. The best plate was spiced goat cheese pieces, very lightly breaded and fried until creamy and hot, and drizzled with honey-fabulous. Also very good was cauliflower & broccoli croquettes with a light mustard aeoli dip, grilled sliced chorizo sausage, rosemary flavored petite lamb chops, and... More

I love this restaurant. Some of my favorite dishes: Poblano Relleno (stuffed hot peppers), Patatas Bravas (potatoes in tomato and garlic sauce), Almejas a la Marinera (littlenecks with white wine and herbs), Camarones a la Plancha (grilled shrimp). I found the baby lamb chops to be very good, but compared to the full-flavor in other dishes, a little boring. The... More

The food was consistently good, though not inexpensive. The waiter started out by trying to hustle us along in order to turn the table, which was senseless because there were tables still available. I think he realized that he was not dealing with inexperienced diners, and he recovered somewhat toward the end of the meal. When we needed our leftovers... More

Chose Solea from the many good reviews, however, it was very disappointing. The best dishes were a special seafood/coconut soup and the lamb meatballs in truffle cream sauce. All the others we had - Brazillian crusty bread; a crab, mango and avocado timbale; the calamari and even the garden salad were so-so. For example, the timbale was made with canned... More
