After visiting MV for many years, we finally visited the Scottish Bakehouse and left quite unimpressed. The place was busy but not very well stocked. There were a few of some things but lots of empty spaces both on the baked goods counter and in the coolers. There was lots of bread. Staff behind the counter were not friendly or... More

What would a trip up island be without a stop at the Scottish Bakehouse. Don't let the name fool you. This is much more than a bakehouse!!! We have had delicious farm to table lunches with the freshest ingredients and all cooked to order. Nothing prefab here. The baked goodies are so yummy that we always have to take some... More

This is a great place to spend a lot of money to get quality food. I ordered (one) dinner ...barbeque chicken (way, way , way overdone) kale (very good) and rice. We added a side of beans and one hermit cookie. Can anyone guess what the total was? $ 25.86 !! And it was just enough for one person! I... More

It's no longer Scottish or a bakehouse, but it's a decent cafe in a pretty location by the side of the road. The food is good enough, not spectacular. But they do offer a selection of gluten free products and the vegetables all come from local farms. They serve breakfast all day and serve a decent, filling omlet. The coffee... More

This cafe / bakehouse lies just outside of Vineyard Haven proper. Easy to reach and has parking. It has a limited amount of seats inside (more so bar stools and a counter) but plenty of seating outside. It's take-out without waiter/waitress service. Ok so the coffee is good. The breakfast though is great and served all day! Always fresh and... More

I am usually disappointed by scones, but these scones were awesome! Crisp outside- moist inside and very flavor filled and tasty!! The cupcake I sampled was chocolate - not very tasty and the icing just OK. Will definitely come back to try other items for sure!

Best breakfast sandwiches in the world. Get the local eggs (just because) and the works... maybe even a snickerdoodle on your way out.

Went by the other evening to give it another shot. There were people waiting and getting very cranky. Two of the groups waiting both had wrong orders. I ordered the mac and cheese and broccoli. It has too much garlic! To my good old American taste, neither of these foods need garlic. I put the leftovers in the frig and... More

We stopped at the Scottish Bakehouse because many of our friends had eaten there over the years and told us we had to go. Home cooking with fresh ingredients and a friendly staff. They had everything you could dream of.....an amazing pastry case, a wonderful menu and something for everyone...gluten free, vegan, vegetarian as well as meat options. It seems... More
