I go for the view and the pop over!

I have very good memories from that place, it feel a bit sad when I go and the dinning room is half empty. This place deserve better, it has great fish dishes and delicious lobster. It's just too bad they don't try to make it more friendly for a younger crowd. It's the best place is... read more

Went to Hawthorne's for New Year's Eve, as we usually do. Nothing about this experience was usual. Requested a window, had to negotiate for a table at a side window. Only one water glass at table. Took 4 tries to get another glass, they brought it filled, did not fill my wife's water glass until much later. Drink order was... More

Fresh seafood; superb oysters. Clean restrooms and lobster bisque served at three Presidential inaugurations. Very friendly service. Grand view of Boston

First the people at Anthony's down the cape and other locations are the BEST in the industry. BUT If you order small they hype cocktails If you order Large they suggest larger, and their best item baked stuffed lobster has become less & less lobster and more stuffing, but delicious stuffing, nonetheless. A GREAT date place for many years. The best view... More

Took my family here to enjoy again my favorite Seafood Specialties I had back in College. The views and service was excellent as remembered along with a window side view. The food was perfectly prepared and presented with Signature Popovers and marinated mushrooms... New memories were created and we took home food we couldn't finish the first go around.. Thank... My husband and I treated ourselves to stopping here on the way to visit relatives nearby. It was dusk and we were seated near a window with a view of the ocean, the lights of Boston in the distance, lights of the air traffic at Logan and the lights around Swampscott Beach. Peaceful viewing with a glass of merlot and... More

Went on a trip back down memory lane and was not disappointed. The views are stunning but there are other reasons we will go back. The wait staff was cheerful and attentive. The dining room was comfortable and not stuffy. The scrod was perfectly cooked, buttery and delicious. The Lobster a la Hawthorne was just as fantastic as it always... More

Took a family member there today. The main reason for the choice was the view. In addition, it's a halfway point to meet. The view is always nice, you can see Boston in the distance and jutting Nahant in the foreground. In summer sitting outside is a treat. Yet, the food, was terrible! Expensive and just awful, an antipasto with... More

My wife and I are vegetarians and on rare occasion eat fish and on those days we call ourselves "Pescatarians For The Day!" When we eat fish our absolute favorite Seafood Specialty Restaurant is Anthony's Pier 4 in Swampscott, MA. We always order there Halibut which is by far the best quality cuts I have ever had. As Anthony's is... More

Great place for a beer and snacks especially with the popovers. Entrees are pricey. Food good but not excellent. Waiter friendly.
