Longfellow's Wayside Inn is a unique part of the historic landscape of Massachusetts. Featuring an authentic building style and traditional New England food, we offer the ideal location for romantic nights out, banquets, family events, company parties, and weddings. Our menu provides exceptional quality at great value, including hearty portions and seasonal foods. We encourage our guests to spend a day with us, touring the serene and historic grounds, enjoying a drink in our 300-year old Tavern, and settling in for dinner in one of our historic rooms. Hardy New England Fair

Went here for dinner. It is a historic inn and you will walk through the old part of the inn, but unless you get a drink at the bar you will probably be eating in the large dining hall addition, which is hardly historic. This disappointed the history buff in me but the friendly wait staff and good... read more

My son and I had a lovely evening. The historic setting and ambient environment set the tone beautifully for our dinner together. Magda our server made super recommendations from the menu which certainly helped our experience feel extra special. She brought a taste for the kitchen of the Indian Pudding which we had never had before! If ever were in... More

I have eaten here numerous times over the last 10 years and considered it a destination restaurant. Recently I visited with my husband and his sister visiting from California. She enjoyed her lobster roll and raspberry sherbet with hot fudge; my meal was lukewarm and the prime rib was 50% fat. We were disappointed that the bakery is phasing out... More

Hidden away on a country lane is this gem! This beautiful place is enough to take your breath away. The dining experience does the same! The food was delicious with much of the food locally sourced! I had the Pecan crusted chicken and my husband had sautéed shrimp. The dessert of raspberry sorbet with homemade hot chocolate sauce was to... More

This restaurant should be on the Todo list mainly because of it's history and it is adorable. But also, you will actually get a good meal here. I have been here for the buffet brunch which was excellent. I have also been here a few times for lunch. I love the traditional feel and menu. On the table is some... More

We love this place. Lunch is our favorite so we can walk the grounds in the daylight. Perfect place to bring out of state or country visitors. The lobster pie for $26 with potatoe and veg was full with chunks of lobster. The chicken pot pie which is a classic for $ 13.95 is a great value with potatoe and... More

This establishment has been in use since 1716 and is located on the original Old Post Road. So much history occurred on this route. In addition, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote a book of poems about his experiences at this Wayside Inn. Henry Ford owned it at one time. There is the original inn (where you can have a lovely drink... More

We went for dinner for the first time in a couple years. The grounds are pleasant for a walk before or after dinner. The inn and restaurant have an historic feel and great ambiance. Dinner is not inexpensive but the portions are large. We enjoyed the crabcakes and the calamari for appetizers. Ceasar salad was excellent. The prime rib was... More

The Wayside Inn is the type of place you go to for the ambience, of which it has a great deal. Great venue for family gatherings and celebrations. The food ranges from acceptable to good. Some things seem to be reheated frozen items (calamari, shrimp cocktail, apple pie) but many of the items on the traditional American menu are very... More
