Comfortable Histoic Dining

The inn's restaurant compliments the historic nature of the area and the inn itself. Costumed servers and period menu selections and architectural integrity of the interior all contribute to an enjoyable dining experience.

Four of us had a wonderful dinner here in April. Longfellow’s Wayside Inn is charming and historic, and the menu offers several classic New England entrees. The food and service were excellent.

I had dinner here last week with my sisters. It was graduation weekend, so it was very busy. The setting is beautiful - down a quiet road with lots of green space and trees. It looks very historic outside and as you enter you feel that you've entered an old tavern/inn. Unfortunately, to accommodate the large numbers of diners, they... More

It was a nice experience. I would not rate the meal too highly but it was quite nice. Had the prime rib. The portion sizes are quite large in my opinion, but then again so are most places in the U.S. This is thus a great thing. The best part however would have to be the lovely picturesque settings surrounding... More

We recently had a wonderful lunch at Longfellow’s Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. The property on which the restaurant is located is actually a National Historic Site which you are free to tour before or after you dine. The Inn in which the restaurant is located has many different dining rooms. Once we walked around the property a bit and... More

Can't beat the prime rib in the historic restaurant! The pace is pleasantly slow and you have time to savor the meal and your companion.

My wife & I thought it would be a great idea to change tradition and have Easter dinner out. Wouldn't the Wayside Inn be a great option? Big mistake! The dining room was huge, crowded and very noisy. The décor did not measure up to expectations. The food looked like it had through an assembly line. The lamb was undercooked,... More

Recently went to the Napa Valley Wine Tasting and Dinner at the Wayside Inn and it was fabulous. It was very organized - function room was full - reservations only. There were five different wine tastings each paired with a course of the meal. Meal started with various/different cheeses and some fruit, then a shrimp cocktail ,mini New England muffins,... More

A unique restaurant venue. We were greeted at the door by a man in period dress and welcomed in. This a very old inn and tavern from the Revolutionary era. It is made up of many small dining rooms original to the era. We had a delightful, professional waitress which you usually don't get in today's chain restaurants. A wonderful... More
