If you want to step back into colonial times and have excellent food, go to the Wayside Inn. Start with a delicious Bloody Mary, while you check out the menu. We have gone there for lunch for years around Christmas, it's now a tradition, with a brother and sister in law. A varied menue that harkened back in time. The... More

Went here with my family and sat in the smaller dining room to the left. It was a little dark, but it gave it that quaint feeling, which is the whole purpose of going there. Our server was wonderful. He was young and very accommodating. My mother and I got the lobster pie. Always our favorite choice! My husband got... More

Warm atmosphere, good food and attentive service make the Wayside Inn in Sudbury a favorite place to dine. Especially during the holiday season when it is beautifully decorated, reservations are a must. Dining at the Wayside Inn is like stepping back in time, since it has been in operation since 1716. There is a good variety of entrees on the... More

One out of the 4 luncheon choices was acceptable; the salads with added shrimp were put together as if someone reached into a bag of greens and threw them on the very large soup type bowl; ingredients in the salads were bland; the sandwich choice, poor. The soup special was good, but the chowder left the flavor in the kitchen!... More

Makes you feel like you are eating at grandma's house! Good food and cozy atmosphere! I wish there were a few more selections on the menu and only the harvest/pumpkin muffins, and not the other kinds of bread. Tasty food, though!

I grew up near this landmark. Recently we stopped there on a visit to Massachusetts from California. The Inn and the grounds are attractive and interesting. It seems mostly a place that seniors visit, though there were some families there. It didn't have enough bizazz for me, but we enjoyed our time there. the food is very good.

We had a family reunion of 11 people for my 92 year old mom's birthday, and we celebrated it with Sunday lunch at Wayside Inn. I agree with previous reviewers that the food is good but not spectacular. What is really unique is the inn itself and the ambience of such a historic site. The menu aims for colonial and... More

I must agree with some of the previous reviewers. Today we visited and the grounds and building exterior were very lovely. The food was good but not anything that couldn't be found in any number of New England restaurants. Perhaps my expectations were too high. In my opinion it is not worth traveling 25 miles for dinner. I was also... More

Very popular place to eat at any time of the day. Make reservations if you can. The food and service is outstanding but the inn itself is the star.

A great place to take visitors to the area, but don't expect a gourmet experience. Although we haven't been there in awhile, last time we went, we had a vegetarian entree, ravioli, that seemed to come straight from the freezer with an overwhelmingly heavy cream sauce. The atmosphere is very quaint, and the food is very satisfying if you like... More
