Delightful Sunday Dinner

A unique restaurant venue. We were greeted at the door by a man in period dress and welcomed in. This a very old inn and tavern from the Revolutionary era. It is made up of many small dining rooms original to the era. We had a delightful, professional waitress which you usually don't get in... read more

My wife & I thought it would be a great idea to change tradition and have Easter dinner out. Wouldn't the Wayside Inn be a great option? Big mistake! The dining room was huge, crowded and very noisy. The décor did not measure up to expectations. The food looked like it had through an assembly line. The lamb was undercooked,... More

Recently went to the Napa Valley Wine Tasting and Dinner at the Wayside Inn and it was fabulous. It was very organized - function room was full - reservations only. There were five different wine tastings each paired with a course of the meal. Meal started with various/different cheeses and some fruit, then a shrimp cocktail ,mini New England muffins,... More

I took my wife here for her 52nd birthday. I must say we were disappointed. The dinning room was very loud and holds a lot of people. The food is mass produced. The baked potato was only slightly warm, the chicken was dry and the lobster casserole was on the tuff and dry side. Overall a below average experience when... More

If you're visiting Boston for the first time, you should make a point of visiting Longfellow's Wayside Inn, allegedly the oldest continuously operated inn in the US (other inns have laid claim to this, but I really do think this is the oldest). Even though it has been rebuilt a couple of times after fires, it is the closest you... More

The food is always very good, the service is just the best and the atmosphere is not only "special", but unique .... the character and the charm of the historic inn simply add to its' being special! Wonderful belated birthday dinner/Valentine's Day celebration. Food was outstanding - especially their famous lobster pie - wait staff was professional and very attentive. Sitting beside a roaring fire in the Old Kitchen room added to the ambiance plus the incredible history all around. And try the Coow Woow drink - exceptional. A beautiful snowy evening at the Wayside Inn.

Recently went to the Inn for their Annual Frank and Jack Evening and what a pleasant surprise and terrific evening it was. Cost was $50 and it included a full course prime rib dinner, five tastings of various flavors of Jack Daniels, along with an explanation of each one including tales of Frank related to JD and a singer singing... What a wonderful place to spend an evening. Surrounded by history and a warm fire I had such a nice time. The duck and acorn squash melts in you mouth. Good drinks and good service.

We had dinner last night is Longfellow's Wayside Inn. Besides the history and quaintness of the Inn itself, our dining experience was fantastic. The waitstaff were very friendly and more than attentive. A basket of bread and cheese on the table while you decide on drinks an dinner. Salads were a goodd size an fresh. The food arrived and everyone... More
