We ate in the downstairs tavern. On a cold January night, the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Two of us had the roasted turkey dinner which was excellent! The turkey was moist and flavorful, the potatoes, stuffing, squash and cranberry sauce were divine! The other two people in our party had the bourbon glazed steak and they both raved about... More

The food is delicious; the atmosphere historical romantic; and the price $$$-$$$$. It's a lovely wedding venue and a perfect place for that ultra-special celebration. As folks on a retirement budget, we can afford to eat in the dining rooms only rarely - regardless of how delicious the food is. BUT - there's a coffee shop and bakery on the... More

My friends and I have now had 2 bad experiences at The Publick House & have not returned since. the first time the food was just OK, and the service was poor. It's not cheap, so you would expect better quality. We decided to try again-maybe it was an off night. But the second dinner went even worse! One friend... More

There was not anything at the buffet that myself and my wife did not enjoy for breakfast. Make sure you get reservations. Food was great.

When I came across a coupon for two-for-one meal Monday through Wednesday, I decided that we had to try this place. We read a lot of tepid reviews, but went anyway. We're glad we did. We both had the duck, and it was really, really moist and delicious. It came with an outrageous stuffing and some very tasty acorn squash.... More

For the first time in my life I ate out for Christmas and it was wonderful! We had a family group of 16 descending upon us for Christmas 2014. We have been struggling with a few issues as of late and the idea of cooking for all those people just did not appeal! I had heard wonderful things about the... More

Food is classic New England... Staff really nice truly felt like a welcome guest - and they were busy too so that even says more... Ok.. Lobster mac and cheese may not be classic old New England but holy moly I'll drive here from an hour away just for that!!! Pot roast and duck were outstanding. Service friendly as discussed.... the food is all yummy, but you can't be in a hurry because the place gets busy and you will not get your food quickly. It has a nice, homey feel and friendly wait staff. The pot pie is really good.

Stopped in on a Sunday night, was surprising busy downstairs. The waiter took a while to come back with bread after he delivered our drinks. Meals were fine, but waiter again took a while to check back on us, and forever to come back with our check. We didn't see him again to give him the check and we got... More
