Delicious meals served in authentically historic tavern

The Publick House is as historically authentic as it gets. We ate in the main dining room, as opposed to the pub room. The menu is the same in both. My grilled salmon was cooked just right. The portions are generous without being ridiculous. The bread basket had an assortment of cornbread, zucchini... read more

This was our first time attending one of their Monday night special dinners which they have twice a month in summer and once a month the rest of the year. $4 from every buffet ticket goes to a selected local charity. Meals in summer vary; Italian, BBQ, Turkey to name a few. There are two seatings - one at 5pm... More

Restaurant has BOGO meals. Yet the "hostess" (not waitress) provided me with check adding back in the subtracted entree and telling me how much I should be basing my tip on. Really? What a crude insult! Complained to management and asked if this was condoned by the Publik House. Response, zero. Chance of us returning, zero. Congrats, your arrogance just... More

Met friends for brunch on a late summer Saturday. Waitress asked if we wanted coffee and gave out half a cup to my friend and, none to me. She dipped her tie in the cream and, served it. I asked and got my cup. She then asked when we would be getting breakfast because we were talking and drinking coffee... More

This was our second time eating here and it was just as wonderful as the first. We started with a Caesar salad, it was a big serving. Followed that with the yankee pot roast( to die for) , my husband had fish and chips, which he said was delicious. Homemade tarter sauce. Waitress was outstanding. So attentive without being intrusive.... More

I've visited this lovely historic inn and restaurant with period furnished dining rooms and enjoy each meal. It's a great stop for lunch and the beginning of each week offers a 2 for the price of 1 throughout the seasons. A basket of the famous sticky buns with homemade corn bread and other breads are just a hint of the... More

Wonderful and surprisingly family friendly. We ate in the downstairs pub room with my 7 year old. Our waitress was extremely nice and very quick. Not one single mistake with our order. Food was OUTSTANDING! I had Yankee Pot Roast, my husband, Pork Loin...and the kido had a hot dog!

Loved my fish- Haddock. On other visits through the years we have had some of their other new england pot-pies, roasts and turkey and all were good. Service was good, and atmosphere nice.

If you like delicious food, served in a lovely authentic new England tavern, then go to the Publick House They serve a Turkey Dinner that is a Gourmets delight. The Ambieance is lovely and the service is very friendly. It is nice to put aside some time either for lunch or dinner to sit and enjoy a good meal. They... More

It was recommended we eat here. The Public House is very nice but a little overpriced. I have had the same quality meals at our local diner. Did enjoy the ombiance. Service was good.
