Warm, Friendly Atmosphere & Great Menu

Beautiful antique-filled building and an outstanding menu offering everything from comfort food like Yankee Pot Roast, Roasted Turkey and too many mouth-watering dishes to tell! Visit their website: publichouse.com to see all you need to know. We loved the warm wide-plank floors and beams and the 6' hearth/fireplace warming us from a snowy drive. Had never eaten here before, and do not plan to again. Food was not very good, served lukewarm at best by a waitress who really didn't seem to want to be there. Be prepared to wait a long time for your order to come to the table. With a menu that is not cheaply priced, one would expect the overall... More

This was my first return visit to the ph in years. I expected above average food and service but received neither. The food was presented in the same manner that I would expect it to come from my kitchen. The taste was fine but very poor presentation. The service was mediocre at best. The wait staff needs a lot of... More

My friends and I drove 45 minutes to finally go to this restaurant. One of us had been there before and shared her great experience. Well, the rolls were not fresh, three of four dinners was cold, and the waiter forgot to bring the gravy. The waiter was not attentive nor did he seem to care. Overall we were not... More

We ate in the pub section of the Publick House because we did not have a reservation. Almost every table in the main dining room was empty, but we were still told we couldn't eat in the dining room without a reservation, which seemed very strange, so we were directed to the pub downstairs. Our server was wonderful, the food... More

Decided to meet my parents half way today for lunch & went to this Historic Inn that has been around since 1771. We ate in The Tap room which is the inn's original dining room with a very large open hearth fireplace and a post and beam ceiling. Outside of the Tap room is a cozy waiting area with 3... More

Went for lunch recently as they’ve been having buy 1 entrée, get 1 entrée free coupon deals. (Can be found on their website and in area newspapers and good only Mon., Tues. and Wed.) The lunch deals are anything off the menu and so I had the lobster pie and I found it very tasty in January, thought I found... More

We ate in the downstairs tavern. On a cold January night, the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Two of us had the roasted turkey dinner which was excellent! The turkey was moist and flavorful, the potatoes, stuffing, squash and cranberry sauce were divine! The other two people in our party had the bourbon glazed steak and they both raved about... More

The food is delicious; the atmosphere historical romantic; and the price $$$-$$$$. It's a lovely wedding venue and a perfect place for that ultra-special celebration. As folks on a retirement budget, we can afford to eat in the dining rooms only rarely - regardless of how delicious the food is. BUT - there's a coffee shop and bakery on the... More
