Very good and consistent

We ate in the restaurant for the third or fourth time over several years travelling through the area. Food has always been very good to excellent; service is friendly and efficient; portions are reasonable; variety very good, and what what one would epect in a New England Inn. Prices in line with... read more

On Monday, May 18, my family and I attended one of the Publick House's Community Fundraiser dinners. It was excellent! They have it down to a science! It was the roast turkey dinner with all the fixings. No one does the turkey dinners as well as the Publick House! It was $13 per person all inclusive. They have these dinners... More

Dined here with old friends on a Saturday night and looked forward to catching up with them. We had reservations - a good thing since the restaurant was quite busy. The dining room was uncomfortably warm and the noise level made us strain to carry on a conversation. Service was prompt and efficient. Wine glasses were generously filled. The butternut... More

HIghlighting our special anniversary, my husband & I so enjoyed the varied menu, bounteous servings & excellent service in this charming inn. Staying on the grounds added to our enjoyment of not having to drive following drinks & dinner. The bakery café provides continental breakfast w/varied offerings & we were delighted to take home some of the luscious baked goods... More

Visiting the area and stopped in for lunch. Nice atmosphere in the old Inn. The crab cakes and Portobello sandwich were great. Service was great. Only problem was sweet potato fries were overcooked. They are closed 2-4 but they allowed us to hang out talking.

I took two colleagues from out of town (LA and Atlanta) here for the final dinner of a long week at a nearby customer location. It's been many years since I last went to the Inn, and I have to say it's as good as ever. Both of my colleagues said "the best dinner this week" and "really fun". Both... More

I have to say....the breakfast was not good. I had Eggs Benedict and the sauce was kind of a grey mass. Definitely not made from scratch, very chemical tasting. Husband had stuffed French toast. Very sweet. Whipped cream was from a can. The atmosphere is great old New England but not impressed with the food.

Publick House is a great New England restaurant that has those real good home cooked meals and an unbelievable bakery. I had the Yankee Pot Roast and my husband had the Chicken Pot Pie. It would have been a pricey dinner BUT most local newspapers have the "buy one get one free" coupon that is good Monday through Thursday. So... More

Wonderful place for lunch or dinner, casual or special occasion. Nice menu choices. Love the turkey dinner any time of year and when on the menu the butternut squash bisque is one of the best I've had. Service is generally very good but can be a bit lacking when very busy. Have a cozy dinner in Ebenezer's Tavern. Check out... More

Food is totally awesome. They actually put coupons in the local newspapers, buy one, get one free, which makes it well worth going there often for us locals. Otherwise great for special occasions. They also have rooms to stay in, a bakery that has fantastic fresh baked goods too.
