Great atmosphere and wonderful food

Looking for a good pasta dinner, my husband and I decided to try dinner at Avellino. We have eaten at the upstairs restaurant The Duck, as well as Cedar Street Restaurant (also part of the Table 3 Group) and both are wonderful, so we had high hopes for Avellino. Most everything about this visit was average. The layout of the restaurant is very nice, cozy, intimate. As an Italian food lover I was disappointed. My veal Marsala lacked flavor as did my husbands tortellini Alfredo. The prosciutto Caesar salad was okay. The waitress was nice enough and graciously split the salad for us. Was excited to try this restaurant... More

This restaurant is equidistant for us coming from Boston and our friends coming from Hartford, CT. We visit on occasion - and the food is always amazingly tasty! Tonight the parking lot was full, the restaurant was as well. The kitchen may have become a bit overwhelmed in terms of getting entrees out in a timely manner - but they... More

Family style restaurant offers 2 different menus and ambiances (upstairs vs downstairs). Upstairs you find dinner tables with a sunken bar and live music. Downstairs family style. Food is fantastic, service is excellent, and all at good prices.

The food was delicious! I had the scallop and butternut squash special and my husband had the eggplant parm. Both were wonderfully prepared and equally tasty. I had the Avellino martini which was delightful. I highly recommend if you are in the area. Kristine was our server and she was nothing short of spectacular.

My wife and I took my son out to eat here, we were greeted upon arrival and sat us near a window. Our view was downtown Sturbridge. The decor of the restaurant was classy, clean, well laid out with just the right of music in the back ground, with out being to loud at all, just enough for the perfect... More

When my husband and I travel I look for restaurants that offer Gluten Free. This was one of the best. We started with the antipasto and I was offered gluten free bread (Udis). I then ordered pasta with vodka sauce, it was delicious. My husband who is not gluten free had ravioli which he enjoyed. Although our waitress said they... More

Fantastic Italian American menu with a bit of a fine dining tweak. The menu has all the old favorites but the recipes are touch more on the gormet side. You HAVE to order the Sicilian Calamari. It's a bit spicy, but out of this world. The eggplant parm is possibly the best I've had anywhere. And the lobster ravioli come... More
