Description: The Lion's Den pub, located downstairs at The Red Lion Inn, offers entertainment seven nights a week, and never a cover charge. There's different entertainment each night, with regular appearances by local performers including David Grover, the Sun Mountain Fiddler, and the Housatonic Philharmonic, offering everything from acoustic folk to R&B, and reggae to the blues. Some nationally recognized performers have been known to grace our humble pub stage from time to time - James Taylor, Lauren Ambrose and Roger Salloom among them.On chilly nights ask for a table by the fireplace and enjoy a genuine pint of ale or stout, a glass of your favorite wine, or a mug of hot mulled cider - all accompanied by our classic pub fare. The Lion's Den is open (until 1 a.m. on weekends), with entertainment from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and entertainment from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. House guests can access the Lion's Den through the Tavern, or by entering beneath the red awning on Main Street.

who were billed as singing classic rock. Not quite. The dirty boys weren't quite chippendales....more like the hubby I'd left home while having a girlfriend overnight....and when they busted out with That's Life, we left. Once I saw them, I was really hoping for some James Taylor, Carly Simon, Carol King music, but alas, it was not to be.

We had dinner at the pub. It is a small area and a bit crowded but the waitstaff was very congenial and the food good, if not outstanding. It was a chilly evening so it was a nice place to eat. The music was very bad and that brought my rating down. I would still recommend. It does not serve... More

We had been driving by for days and decided to stop in for a quick dinner. We decided on the pub instead of the restaurant upstairs. I assume the food comes from similar kitchens. The atmosphere was ok. We were seated back in the corner, it was early, around 5 and so dark, I couldn't read the menu without additional... More

Nice pub, noisy. Music that started at 8pm was very good. Had the Wednesday daily special Hungarian goulash that was tasty, but meat was dry.

I have been many times and the atmosphere is cool and the music is usually entertaining. But time and time again, I try to like the food and it's horrible. This last time, we asked the waiter what the best thing on the menu was and he was stumped. He finally said "I like the hummus." When pressed further he... More

A quaint, dark little pub below the Red Lion Inn. Some traditional and creative pub fare, with plenty of fresh, local ingredients. Highly recommend the "hot dogs" on the menu -- but be hungry: you get two of them, much longer than your average ballpark dog, and rather than the standard frank, they are delicious, mildly spiced locally made sausages.... Lions Den is located inside the Red Lion Inn. Small pub with a great atmosphere. Serves food and drinks. Also live music nightly with no cover charge. Limited seating so get there early. Front desk provides you with a line up of the various bands for the week. Cool little place. Went twice. Very enjoyable. Again excellent service

stopped in here for a quick bite to enjoy the music. We had a sandwich and soup. Both items were delicious -especially the onion soup. Much better than one we had in a finer area restaurant.

The limited menu was no big deal. There is live music every evening and we had the good fortune to hear world class jazz musicians perform the night we were there! Awesome experience!
