We were hoping for fresher and more creatively prepared food for the price we paid. Fish was bland and not very fresh, chicken was moist but not exciting. Salad was unremarkable.
Decided to eat breakfast out while on vacation and this was our first stop. Quaint, friendly and delicious. I had a gingerbread waffle with apple compote and my husband had fresh blueberry pancakes. Both were delicious (I tasted his). If we didn't have other place in the area we want to visit, we'd be back on this vacation. We'll definitely... More
We had dinner. The plate look deceivingly simple but the flavors were complex and delightful! I had cider-glazed pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and seasonal veg. The veggie was broccoli which I like but was disappointed as it looked so plain, but quickly changed my mind after the first bite. The flavor was not plain! It was a refreshing and... More
I stopped at Stockbridge on the way to Worcester from Albany. The town is adorable and quaint. I decided to eat dinner at this restaurant. We went on a Monday night in the winter so it was not very crowded but it is small so make a reservation at a busier time. Every part of this dinner was delicious. To... More
My wife & I visited this past Saturday. The restaurant was inviting & warm on a very cold day. The staff was friendly & engaging. The potato rolls served with butter were tasteful. Our appetizer consisted of mussels in a garlic sauce that was plentiful & tasteful. Our main course consisted of lamb chops with mash potatoes & broccoli. The... More
Due to all the excellent reviews, I had high expectations for this restaurant. The restaurant is small but cozy and inviting. The service was friendly and quick, but it was fairly empty when I was there. I tried the clam chowder, which was good but didn't "wow" me. I had one of the specials of the night, polenta with shrimp.... More
We chose this restaurant because of the outstanding reviews. The service is friendly but slow. Only one server worked. While it is a small place, still having one server who also answers the phone, means slow service. But the main issue is the food. We had the clam chowder recommended in a previous review. It was not a chowder but... More
Down a little alley (mews) right next to the more famous Red Lion Inn. One of the best New England clam chowders ever. Not that thick, gummy style where the spoon stands up by itself. I see that other Trip Advisor posters share this opinion of a NE clam chowder that is right up there with the chowder at Newport's... More
I thak one of the local shopkeepers for sending to this charming local restaurant. The New England Clam Chowder was excellent as was the portebello mushroom sandwish.
Tiny little restaurant that I never would have noticed. Thankfully our innkeeper recommended it and made us a reservation. The food was fabulous. It's tiny, but not too small or noisy. It felt intimate and the menu selection is wonderful!
