I'm not a direct descendant of royalty. I work for a living, so I try to be very tolerant and understanding of businesses in this economy but seriously, avoid this hoax at all costs. We were seated in the main dining room for lunch. The table was adorned with paper place mats and they seats had seen better days. The... More

During our stay in the red lion inn, we decided to dine in the hotel restaurant. The decoration of the restaurant is classic/romantic, like the hotel. The food was very nice, the service swift.

Really don't find many of these 'quaint' hotels/restaurants anymore so I guess we shouldn't have been surprised by how popular it was even at lunch time. Fortunately - having stumbled on it at 11:45 didn't need a reservation but by the time we left at 13:00 the place was packed. Staff all very pleasant, smiling and appropriately attentive without being... More

We had dinner in the Courtyard. It is a very nice setting nestled at the rear of the old inn. The chef is a leader in the effort to use local ingredients. Each table has an umbrella. You can choose from the Courtyard/Tavern menu, the Main Dining Room menu, and on Fridays a menu of items cooked on the outdoor... More

We loved the dining room for lunch, and the food was so good that we came back a second time and ate at the outdoor Courtyard at the Red Lion Inn. Their turkey sandwiches with stuffing and cranberry mayo was too die for and Hubby LOVED his prime rib open-faced sandwich on a popover. We were not disappointed the second... More

Walking into the Inn is like being a time traveller to a less hurried & less harried time. Drinks on the porch, dining in the comfortable, white linen dining room whatever your preference the staff will make you welcome & the bar & kitchen will make you glad you came

On our annual trips to the Berkshires, we have often had dinner in the Courtyard at the Red Lion Inn and it has always been a good experience. We had skipped several years at the Red Lion but went again this year. The service was courteous and timely. My wife's roast beef was delicious and my trout was excellent as... More

So last time we were in the Berkshires - everyone was " got to go eat at the Red Lion Inn"..so we stopped by and were told there was no way without a reservation....fast forward to July 2014 - we made a point of making a reservation way ahead of time. We needed to move the reservation up by about... More

This is such a charming place, and with friendly and attentive service, it became a special evening. The food is upscale pub food, well-prepared.

We recently (July 2014) had lunch in the dining room of the Red Lion Inn, and were pleased with the service and the food. I've been there several times before, and was not always impressed, but I had no complaints at all this time. I gave it four rather than five stars only because the menu is rather pricey.
