Tradional New England inn

Fresh food, well-prepared, wait-staff somewhat stretched; we ate in the Tavern section which is less formal than the dining room but with the same food; place felt somewhat aging and on the decline

The bread was good--menu selections good---service excellent---convenient when staying at the Inn--- We had not heard great things about this restaurant, but decided to try it anyway. It was a pleasant surprise.

I have been to the Red Lion Inn over several decades and the dining room has not always worked well. Of course the ambience is second to none if you like traditional class. However now the food has been dramatically improved and the service is really good based upon two breakfasts and a dinner. Considering that the tables are not... More

The Red Lion Inn had been hosting guests for longer than any of us have been alive. So, they know hospitality. We just sat in a very cool booth in the Tavern. Great ambience. The trout and the beer battered haddock were both excellent. Topped off with great service. We recommend a stop at the tavern at the Red Lion... More

We drove to Stockbridge principally to eat here and shop Country Curtains. Our lunch in the tavern area was tasty with cup of soup and half turkey sandwich. I started with a spicy Bloody Mary that did not disappoint, but overall, the food was not spectacular.....average. Atmospheric and historic, we enjoyed the visit and wandered thru the ground floor.....traveling back... More

We were guests of the hotel but we had dinner here with four of our friends who live in the area and we only see once a year. It was the perfect setting for our reunion. We had a nice large round table beautifully decorated with friendly and efficient service. The service was timed so that we didn't feel rushed... More

We ate breakfast here on a Sunday. The old Inn is one of the oldest buildings in Stockbridge, so we knew we were in for a great atmosphere. We were not disappointed. The dining room had dozens of china teapots on display and we were served with real china and real silverware. My wife explained to me that all of... More

Great daily specials downstairs in the pub. Live music with no cover. Very attentive wait staff. Hungarian goulash was great!

This hotel has long been the focal point of "Rockwell's" Stockbridge & a must see in the town. Recently, in the past 2 seasons, the dining experience has been tarnished by the time(an hour) it takes for the entrees to reach the table. While the food quality still rates a 5, slow service in both the main dining room &... More

I don't care how good the food is (and this food ain't great) if the service is bad the restaurant is bad. A youngish woman whose name I won't divulge, was unfriendly to all of us. She was curt and didn't seem to want to interact with us. She wasn't available when we needed her. Thus the bad service only... More

Travvy55 So sorry to hear your visit wasn't even close to meeting your expectations. It appears we feel short on many fronts for which I am very sorry.
