Traditional New England Favorites

I dined at the Red Lion Inn as part of a private party. We were comfortably seated toward the back of the main dining room at round tables for six with a choice of herbed chicken breast or grilled salmon with chive puree. I chose the salmon which was well-prepared and quite tasty. The chive... read more

Dinner - We were under a time limit, heading out to Tanglewood for a concert, and our waitress made sure that we were not held up. A wonderful Caesar Salad followed up with wonderful schnitzel, trout and prime rib. Breakfast - Thin coffee, solid poached eggs and cold toast pretty much says it all. A great stay finished with disappointment.

Absolutely amazing meal. Had shepard's pie which was wonderful. My wife had the turkey-- she remarked that she would absolutely have the same meal again. Asparagus tartine was great and my wife remarked that the Caesar sald was among the best she's had. Mind you, we're native New Yorkers and have had our share of great restaurants. My 9 yo... More

The Red Lion Inn is not to be missed with a short 3-4 mile drive off of the Mass-pike in western Mass. A great place to enjoy lunch and sit for a moment on the long front porch in a comfortable chair and watch the world go by. If the Antique Road Show stopped here they could describe a good... More

I have stayed at the Red Lion Inn many times and one of the highlights of my stay is always having dinner in the Dining Room. Recently I was on my way back from Vermont and stopped by for a late lunch. Whenever I eat there I always feel that I should be wearing my ascot! The place has a... More

This Red Lion Inn was not part of the Red Lion chain which was what we were expecting! It was unique and very interesting.

This is one of the most elegant restaurants in the Berkshires. The décor is elegant, the food is superb, and there is piano music in the background.

Stopped here yesterday for breakfast. My wife and I both ordered the prime rib and caramelized onion frittata. It was delicious. I highly recommend this place. The service was perfect.

We liked that the the food was delicious, the room was done up (in a colonial vintage way) but the feel was reasonably casual, not stuffy or pompous. We dress up, a bit, and felt perfectly comfortable. Most others were in their street clothes, which work as well. I would describe the food as traditional american with gentle features. For... More
