Delicious food, historic setting.

We stayed at the inn and ate here once for dinner and once for breakfast. The prime rib was outstanding. For dessert, the warm brown sugar cake is a must. Seriously, I haven't had a dessert that good in ages. Also, the apple pancake for breakfast was thick and filling and perfect on a cold morning.

We planned a weekend in the Berkshires and having dined at the Red Lion before, thought it would be the best choice. Made reservations on Opentable to get points as well. We all had soup appetizers, clam chowder and butternut squash bisque, excellent on both. Three of us had the prime rib, excellent, a baked haddock, delicious and a turkey... More

o When we checked our online dinner reservation, it was for 2 not 4 people so we had to change time to 5:30 when dining room opens. We ordered our meals, lovely bread basket arrived and before we could order our wine, our main dishes appeared. (Were they preplated?) Well we did go on to order wine and eat our... More

My adult daughter and I dined here while on an overnight stay. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the formal dining room. For dinner, we shared squash bisque and a crab cake as appetizers (very smooth, almost runny, crab cake - one of the best we have ever enjoyed), and both ordered the roast turkey dinner. The turkey was... More

Food is excellent but service was average as the dining room appeared short staffed for the volume of diners and our server was not as attentive as we would have liked. We spent a Family weekend after New Year's in Stockbridge and enjoyed our New England dinner choices such as roast turkey and Shepard's Pie. The best dessert is the... More

I always wanted to go to the Red Lion Inn well I was disappointed. Our waiter was horrible. He acted like it was a bother to wait on us.The service was slow yet we felt we were rushed. The food was ok nothing spectacular. we had a better meal at another little inn the night before. I believe they are... More

Old fashioned has good and bad connotations, depending on your point of view. Like many New Englanders, and plenty of New Yorkers and Garden Staters, we cherish the tradition of being able to dine at an inn with nearly 240 years of hospitality history. In recent years, the culinary staff have gently updated (lightened) the recipes, placed considerable emphasis on... More

We come here every year for Christmas Dinner. Their decorations are old-fashioned and really great - it's like stepping back in time. I was really excited that they changed the menu this year, but really the menu has been great every year. It's a charming inn.

Here many times over 30 years -- always special despite occasional slips. Good and friendly service (different things), fresh dishes though sometimes boring like the lamb shepherds pie. Dedicated staff and management ensure a quality experience.
