As we were traveling on I-84 through Massachusetts for a family Thanksgiving in NH, we found out that our hosts lost power. We needed a quick idea for lunch, and started searching for locations nearby. What a surprise! An Austrian restaurant at a Random Location, MA? We both love Vienna, the city and its food. We called, got a reservation,... More

We like to go out on holidays like New Year's Eve, but stay local and avoid travel frustrations. The risk is poor service and a limited menu. Not the case this year at the Vienna. We got great service, full menu and a cozy Victorian atmosphere. My husband had the duck and felt it was the best he ever had,... More

European Fine Dining in Central Massachusetts. Fresh, deliciously prepared meals can be found on the menu and in the daily specials that are offered. If you are looking for something different from boar, to duck to pork shoulder, this is the place to go. Dining at the Vienna Restaurant is like taking a holiday in Bavaria.

We were in the area for Thanksgiving and decided to try this restaurant after reading the reviews. The first thing we noticed, which was not very positive, was that the parking lot was very icy on this cold weekend after a day of snow. Once we walked inside, however, we were warmly greeted by the wait staff and immediate loved... More

It is difficult to get the true picture of a restaurant on a holiday. Limited menu and prices usually do not reflect what a restaurant really is like. We arrived at our reservation time and were seated in a small room due to our table still being occupied. We ordered drinks and waited by the fire place. We split 2appetizers.... More

This Inn is home to a remarkably good restaurant. My husband & I dined there last week and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had delicious schnitzel oscar - nicely breaded and fork tender meat. His chicken paprikas was excellent. Don't pass up the homemade tortes, either - you'll miss a perfect ending to the meal. We also stayed at the... More

Be prepared...this is not a fast service place. Expect slow service because the food is worth the wait! It is not because he staff is slow. They are great! Everything about our meal was outstanding. We had several choices on our menu so if German-Austrian is not your thing you can choose from other ideas. You get served a little... More

My husband and I went out of our way on the way from New Hampshire to New York to find this gem. My mother made the most incredible sauerbraten, and I hadn't enjoyed this meal in ages. We were amazed at the elegance - beautifully appointed furnishings, china, etc. The meal was incredible - from the goat cheese appetizer to... More

Recently visited here for a birthday dinner. A quaint inn, trying to stay true to the "Vienna atmosphere." Dining area seemed small for the number of guests in the party. Enjoyed the appetizers and main course. Our server appeared to be annoyed that she was working and was not attentive at all. Made no conversation, thus detracting from the overall... More

My family hosted a wedding rehearsal at the Vienna Restaurant for about 40 guests. (The wedding itself was in Woodstock, CT--approximately 15 minutes away). We could not have asked for a better reception! Lisa and Jonathan are a wonderful team and made the reception something all guests would never forget. The detail process was fairly simple with food selection customized... More
