Winter Respite

Nice to be able escape the crazy snow and pop in for a nice meal here at Tomasso. Chow was excellent as usual, enjoyed the chicken special. Chianti did the trick. Nice clean parking lot... a pleasure.

If you want to spare yourself the drive into Boston and are willing to pay Boston prices, Tomasso can accommodate you. But don't expect Boston quality of food or servers. I have dined here many times--either for convenience or because someone else chose the restaurant--and I have literally never had a delicious meal here. The wine list, although extensive, does... Real northern Italian food. The Bolognese was awesome. The "broken" lasagne is unique. Outstanding wine list. Only negative is the sausage pizza needs a sauce - a little dry as is. The flourless chocolate cake and lemon panna cotta were to die for.

The food was good but you don't get much of it. I ordered the chicken parm. 1 small piece of chicken and thank goodness I ordered a side or I certainly would not have had enough to eat. The room was freezing so they brought a space heater which the server had to trip over to serve us. The service... More

The chef is amazing. The menu is constantly changing as the seasons. The duck "MARCO POLO" was out of the world. The menu is not large about 5 entrees. There are interesting salads and soups. There are suggested wine pairings with dinners. I have often had the house wine and it has always been excellent. The staff has always been... More

Good food, very small portions, not worth the price. Sides priced separately, should be included with entree, considering entree price. Trying too hard to be an upscale restaurant. Very slow service.

If you find something you like on the menu it will most likely be good. However for me, the menu is just too limited. This is a small restaurant, so I understand why. I usually only find one dish that interests me. So for that reason. It only gets 3 stars.

We had tagliatelle bolognese for primi and then had the crispy fish with pancetta salad for secondi. The fish was a special for that night. Both were very low in salt, which I guess is better than being salty as the other reviews. They provided salt on the table, so we just added. We had the bambolini (donuts) and the... More

We have been here before but we wanted to sample the new Winter menu and the new chef. It initially too a while for our waiter to take our order but after that service was efficient and friendly. I started with the polpette del carne which was excellent. I "sampled" my daughter's broken lasagna with broccoli (quite good). My wife... More
