The decor is cool and fun. The web site is cool and fun. The food is cool and fun. It's good here. Better if you're with a group as they don't seem to immediately understand the notion of the single diner. It's just not that kind of place. (They're still nonplussed, but easier about it if you go in on... More

On our recent trip to Boston, we found this gem of a restaurant in Somerville, and ate there 2 nights. First night we started with a delicious appetizer of Buffalo Brussels sprouts followed by a steak and a po'boy sandwich, and a slice of pecan pie. We came back on Monday to try fried chicken dinners ( only offered on... More

My husband and I went to Highland Kitchen for brunch and were impressed with the quality of food. We went before they opened and waited in a line of about 20 people. Once they opened, we were let in and seated right away. We both ordered the Dirty Bird because it sounded too good to pass up. The buttermilk biscuit... More

Highland Kitchen is my favorite restaurant in Somerville and one of the best in all of Boston! Because of this, it can get quite busy at times (no reservations unfortunately) but it is worth the wait! The food and drinks are innovative and tasty. The staff are awesome! They're super friendly, give great recommendations, while still serving you in a... More

So delicious and it won't kill your wallet. There are a lot of options for vegetarians and carnivores alike at this southern style eatery. The Buffalo Brussels Sprouts and a must-have. Great spot to simply grab a beer and watch "the game" with some friends too.

Lived in the area for years and have tried to go here a number of times but the long lines of people waiting to get in for Sunday brunch always deterred me. Well, now I'm convinced it would have been well worth the wait. I had always assumed it was just a breakfast place but when someone suggested we go... More

Went to Highland Kitchen after work and was blown away but not only the food but the service! This is a neighborhood restaurant/pub with outstanding food for both meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Ordered the appetizers: housemade pickles, housemade potato chips with onion dip, crispy brussels sprouts and the deviled eggs. ABSOLUTELY outstanding! The brussels sprouts are an absolute must... We have visited Highland Kitchen on other occasions, but I never wrote a review before. As usual the food was excellent and we all enjoyed our food. The southern dishes are great and the brussel sprout starter is a must. There are a lot of great choices for the main course and I haven't had one I haven't enjoyed. For... More

Great food and bar, but get here early because it gets crowded soon after opening time. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the noise level. Who wants to shout over a wonderful meal?

We've been going here for the last two years and have never been disappointed. We have a 2 year old now and she loves it there. It's always busy (line forms before it opens at 6) so get there early if you don't want to wait. If you don't mind waiting though they have a great bar. Burgers and sandwiches... More
