Jazz brunch - "where your nana used to get drunk"

Johnny D's is a landmark in Davis Square. It features a lot of up-and-coming bands as well as interesting touring bands from around the country. Small and comfortable location to see good music acts. Surprisingly "clean" food, several grades up from standard bar fare. And a really good beer selection. Will be missed when they finally close in 2016.

A great place to take my daughter for her birthday! A bit of classy Jazz playing during brunch, great Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's (in house mix!), an eclectic assortment of offerings that included huge omletes and great grits!

Great spot for live music most nights of the week. I've been to several concerts and jam sessions. The jazz brunch on Sunday is fine, but nothing to write home about.

Our son lives in Somerville, and while visiting we tried Johnny D's Uptown for their Jazz Brunch Sunday morning. Great coffee and delicious breakfast food with unobtrusive jazz being played in the background--we had a great time and a great meal! I had the blintzes and eggs, and I have to say the blintzes were exceptional. The filling was so... More

Great musicians take stage. Some really good international bands have had shows in there. Music is good but food is absolutely not. I've been to Sunday brunch a couple of times but never impressed. Dinner and bar food are equally bad. Just stay at the bar, have a few drinks and listen to great music.

We had never been to Johnny D's, but went to hear our favorite band, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Arrived early because we didn't know what to expect. We explained that we were there early for a show and could come back. They said we could stay, enjoy the music, and eat while waiting. I just had a burger and... More

Fabulous weekend jazz brunch. The basic breakfast items are good (especially the ham & eggs with buttermilk biscuits) but the specials change daily and are so fresh and good. And don't forget your mimosa or bloody mary!

We caught the Glen David Andrews show at Johnny D's. This is a cool intimate setting to see some great music and enjoy some good food too. Once the music gets going this place starts rocking. The staff are very friendly and they take good care of you. I look forward to see another show here.
