Consistently good - Great food and selection of beers

I visited Redbones twice in the space of three weeks with my friend. I used to live in Somerville and Redbones became a huge favourite before popping over to the Burren for a pint, or two, or three. Whenever I'm back in Boston I make a point of going back there. There will be a long wait for... read more

We celebrated my mom's birthday last night. My daughter and her boyfriend had scouted the place knowing that ribs are moms favorite meal. Fun place, as a matter of fact there were other bday celebrations. Fried jalapenos appetizer was really good. Great selection of german beers. Ribs were cooked just right, nice sauce - side dishes delicious - all of... More

Before meeting up with some friends, we stopped here for a drink. We sat at the bar and bartenders Mike and Abbey were busy, friendly, chatty, and efficient. Perfect. On a recommendation, we had the pulled pork nachos. They arrived quickly. It was a big plate for an appetizer, but not too big. And it was delicious. The beer and... More

They don't appear to have the jolly lunch combo item any more. It used to be fantastic. Still plenty of Southern flavor though.

The dry rub ribs were tasty and tender, but a little overdone. The smoked brisket was also flavorful, but also a little overdone. The sides of slaw, mashed potatoes, potato salad were fine, but nothing special. The appetizers of fried pickles and Hush Puppies were average. The price was slightly high in comparison to the quality of food. The atmosphere... More

Redbones has the atmosphere of a real BBQ place. It's a little funky and quirky, and that's just right. The ribs are great and the sides as well. Service was a little slow and not terribly friendly, but it didn't spoil the meal.

I love barbecue and I love this place. It's all about the food and that's what I liked most. No frills, funky setting (two floors) and pleasant staff enhance the great food. Menu has the classic bbq offerings and then some. I had the St. Louis ribs with all the fixings and they were melt In your mouth delicious. Highly... More

I went to have a casual lunch here with my boss and client. The fried cat fish and housemade smoked sausage appetizers were very good. Our client got ribs and was very happy with them. My boss got the pulled pork sandwich and he said it was very good. I had the beef brisket sandwich and found it to be... More

Redbones is a classic, best bar-b-que in the area. No frills, just terrific food. Best dishes are pulled pork, cat fingers, corn pudding, brisket, and for the real carnivore, The Barbecue Belt. At the bar, many craft beers on tap. If you can't decide, the wheel of beer fortune can be spun for you. Wear a red t-shirt, napkins not... More
