Best meal in months

I was in Boston for business and was looking for something different. The Journeyman was very nice with excellent service. I sat at the counter and was able to watch them prepare the food and that was very interesting. The food was unique and very good. I have eaten a few seven course meals in France's wine making countrry that... More

I have been to this restaurant twice; once just about a year ago and then last night. It is a very unique and wonderful experience, which includes the food, of course. It's a tasting menu restaurant and each time I got 5 courses and each time they end up serving 7, I think. Both times my friend and I have... More

In France, people are always talking about some fantastic restaurant they found hidden down an alley in an unlikely location. But in Somerville? It took me a long time to get around to trying this place. My son had told me before it opened that a friend of his from the Harvard-Radcliffe Science Fiction Association was opening a high-end restaurant... More

Journeyman is one of a kind. The food is superb and the attention from staff throughout the experience is just right. If you want to watch the artistry of the chefs ask for seats near the kitchen and watch them do their magic. It will be one of the most unique dining experiences you've ever had.

We came to journeyman on the positive review of a number of colleges of my brother, who is a resident of Somerville. Often such recommendations fail to live up to the hype, however I would definitely say that Journeyman did not disappoint. The service was very well trained without being condescending. One of the ladies in our party had to... More

We wanted an experience, not just a good dinner, and this is definitely want we got at Journeyman. We started at the Back Bar for a cocktail and was impressed the decor, approachable and knowledgable staff and awesome drinks! I think you can get reservations for the bar and we totally want to go back to do that. I felt... More

Everything in this restaurant was perfect. A nice tasting tour with beautiful plate presentation. I have to give only 3 for ambiance because it was an early week evening and I was alone in there. I heard it is normally packed.

This is one of the few restaurants in the Cambridge area that feels like a big city restaurant. It's not the size, which is small, but the minimalist interior, which I love, and the great food. Most dinners are tasting menus and the food is unusual and delicious. This might be my favorite Cambridge-area splurge, or at least tied at... More

Any Boston resident or visitor with an appreciation for amazingly-made, locally-sourced food should give Journeyman a try. This is a place that only turns over a couple tables a night, and isn't large to start (maybe seats 25-30 people max?). Quirky decor with an "open" feel (our table gave us direct line of sight into the kitchen) and impeccable service... More
